Starting in October 2024, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen (LTS) will begin providing Airframe Related Components (ARC) services for Cebu Pacific’s Airbus A320ceo and A321ceo fleets. This new partnership, signed at the MRO Asia-Pacific event, will focus on maintaining engine nacelle components, including the inlet, fan cowling, thrust reverser, and nozzle. LTS will also offer state-of-the-art repair technology for composite material components.
Located at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, LTS will not only provide services for these key components but also support other systems for Cebu Pacific. This collaboration further strengthens the partnership between the airline and Lufthansa Technik, with Cebu Pacific already receiving Engine Maintenance Services for its CFM56-5B engines earlier this year.
Cebu Pacific has maintained a close working relationship with Lufthansa Technik for years. In addition to the newly signed ARC agreement, the companies collaborate on various maintenance projects. These include the Cyclean Engine Wash and Aircraft Transition Services, as well as Engine Maintenance Services for Cebu Pacific’s A320ceo and A321ceo fleets.
Further support for Cebu Pacific’s fleet comes from Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP), which provides Base Maintenance Services for the airline’s Airbus A320 Family aircraft in Manila. This ongoing partnership demonstrates Cebu Pacific’s commitment to safe and efficient air travel while benefiting from Lufthansa Technik’s extensive expertise.
Shevantha Weerasekera, Cebu Pacific’s Vice President of Engineering and Fleet Management, emphasized the value of the partnership with Lufthansa Technik during the MRO Asia-Pacific event. “The contract signed today at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore is a strong reflection of Cebu Pacific’s long-standing collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, and it reflects our complete confidence in their expertise. Cebu Pacific is committed to providing our passengers with safe, accessible, and affordable air travel, and our continuous partnership with Lufthansa Technik allows us to fulfill this objective.”
With the new agreement in place, Cebu Pacific will continue to prioritize safety, affordability, and accessibility in its air travel services, ensuring passengers receive a top-quality experience.
Expanding MRO Operations in Asia-Pacific
Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has solidified its position as a leader in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services across the Asia-Pacific region. Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia-Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, expressed his gratitude for the new partnership with Cebu Pacific: “A big thanks goes out to Cebu Pacific for choosing us – once again – as their trusted partner. Our valued customer will benefit from our global MRO operations with a strong local footprint in Asia-Pacific. We are committed to continuing exceptional support and look forward to expanding our already strong partnership with Cebu Pacific through this new agreement.”
As Cebu Pacific continues its collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, the airline will benefit from the global expertise and local support offered by LTS, ensuring high-quality maintenance for its fleet. This partnership aligns with both companies’ goals of delivering reliable air travel services to customers across the region.
