Mock questions to help you for your flight attendant interview

One of the best ways to prepare for your flight attendant impact interview is to practice in front of a mirror or someone like a present cabin crew. Aside from practicing your image like how you stand and walk, you also have to practice how you answer questions while keeping your confidence level up and carrying yourself pretty well. You should be able to answer the questions as honestly as you can. Airlines have no time for BS, trust me. So here are 60 mock questions to practice on for your flight attendant interview day.

When you practice in front of a mirror, the first thing you have to do is to be confident about yourself. Recruiters quite know when you are trying to act like someone else and when you are genuine, so as much as possible, confidently be yourself but also remember that there are standards to reach. Your smile, the way you stand, the way you talk, how you answer questions, and more. You have to also be very honest and go straight to the point.

Do not sound scripted too. Always remember that the airline wants to learn more about you. They do not care if your dad is the President of a company or if the tito of your lolo of your sister-in-law’s ninong’s BFF’s father was a former national athlete. So no need to share a whole novel about your family. Follow the KISS principle which means Keep It Short but Straightforward.

  2. Why do you want to be a flight attendant.
  3. How does this position fit into your career goals?
  4. How would you handle a situation in which a passenger keeps breaking basic flight rules such as wearing their seat belt?
  5. What unique qualities about yourself would you bring to our company?
  6. ​Describe a situation when you were able to have a positive influence on the actions of others.
  7. How will you earn the trust of your coworkers?
  8. If you were in an unknown city, what would you do to find a restaurant?
  9. How do you determine priorities when you have multiple tasks at hand?
  10. Tell me what you know about our airline.
  11. What experience do you have using team-based messaging applications?
  12. If you had a passenger that couldn’t keep calm, due to the anxiety of a plane crash, how would you calm them down?
  13. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
  14. How would you rate your people skills?
  15. Think about a difficult boss, professor, or coworker. What made him or her difficult? How did you successfully interact with this person?
  16. ​How would you handle a situation where one passenger complained about the passenger next to him for snoring too loudly?
  17. When you suffer a setback, how does that emotionally affect you and your work?
  18. Do you get motion sickness?
  19. What are your salary expectations?
  20. How tolerable are you of people?
  21. Tell me about a time when communication became an issue when working on a team.
  22. How long do you see yourself as a flight attendant?
  23. What work situations excite and motivate you?
  24. When did you realize you wanted to become a flight attendant?
  25. Personality fit is important to us. How would you describe your personality?
  26. What type of emergency training have you completed?
  27. Rate your communication skills from 1-10 with proper examples backing your given rating.
  28. If a passenger gets violently ill during a flight, how would you handle this?
  29. How do you get along with others at work?
  30. Have you ever had a stranger yell at you before? How did you handle the situation?
  31. If you could start your career over again, what direction would you take?
  32. Why do you think passengers take their frustration out on the cabin crew, even though the crew is trying to help them?
  33. Exceptional customer service is our priority. How will you ensure that our service standards are continually met?
  34. How do you feel about the dress code and professional standards?
  35. When have you had to shift your priorities in response to sudden changes?
  36. At your current job, what are you most proud of?
  37. The airline industry is full of unexpected scenarios. When have you faced an unexpected difficulty?
  38. Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their weight? How did you handle it?
  39. What do you hope to gain most from your time with us?
  40. What would you do if you saw one of your colleagues deliberately being rude to a passenger?
  41. List the top 3 skills that will make you an ideal team member and cabin crew?
  42. Give me an example of a time that you went above and beyond the call of duty at work.
  43. As a Flight Attendant, you are responsible for ensuring that the safety of all passengers is a priority. What would you do if you felt there was a safety threat?
  44. As a flight attendant, you are expected to wear a uniform or a certain dress code to work. Are you comfortable with this policy?
  45. Describe a situation when you demonstrated initiative and took action without waiting for direction. What was the outcome?
  46. As a Cabin Crew, you will be asked to work a wide range of hours and a lot of overtime. Are you able to accommodate the unpredictable schedule associated with being a Cabin Crew?
  47. What do you think is or are the flight attendants’ primary responsibility as a flight crew member?
  48. Are you applying for any other jobs?
  49. Are you okay with being on a long layover?
  50. Where would you like this career to take you?
  51. How do you believe your coworkers would describe you?
  52. Do you prefer doing work on a routine day-to-day basis or do you prefer mixing up your routine occasionally?
  53. Think about a difficult boss, professor, or another person. What made him or her difficult? How did you successfully interact with this person?
  54. Why are you the best candidate for us?
  55. Would you consider yourself a creative person?
  56. Have you received training on how to handle an in-flight emergency?
  57. Tell me about any airline-related training that you have been through.
  58. What if we told you right now that you are not fit to be a cabin crew, what will you do?
  59. (For single parents with children) You are aware that you will be working different work hours and there is a huge possibility that you may miss important occasions. How will you handle your time between being a single parent and a cabin crew?
  60. Tell me more about your extra-curricular activities, hobbies, and interests.

You may notice that some of these questions may ask if you have had training experience or inflight experience. Remember that you have to be honest here. Sometimes, airline recruiters are not really after your answers, they check your integrity. They also check if you are trainable and if you are fit to be a cabin crew.

So go start practicing with these questions. Of course, it is unlikely that they will ask the majority of these, but then again, these questions are just for practice purposes.
