Why You Should Fly on Low Cost Carriers

Why You Should Fly on Low Cost Carriers

Many people think that flying with low cost carriers means bad service. But let me tell you, it’s more than worth it. I’ve been hopping on these flights around the Philippines for the past months and year, and I can say it’s definitely a good deal. Is it worth riding on low cost carriers? Well, it depends on what you like, but for me, especially on short flights, it’s a big yes.

If you want to know the difference between a low cost carrier and a full service carrier, you might want to read this.

Let me tell you why flying with low cost airlines is a good deal for regional and domestic travel. Just keep in mind that I’m talking about my experience with low cost airlines in the Philippines. It might be different in other places.

Affordable Travel for Everyone

Low cost airlines like Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Philippines, and Royal Air make flying affordable. Even with extras like check-in luggage, the price is still pretty good. These airlines make flying possible for more people by keeping things simple and safe. They follow the same safety rules as the big airlines, but they cut out the fancy stuff. When I say “no frills,” I mean no free food, blankets, or in-flight entertainment. But hey, they get you from point A to B without breaking the bank.

Customize Your Flight Your Way

With Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines, you can pick what you want. Need to check-in luggage? Add a bit to the base fare. Want meals? Book them before your flight. The more you add, the more you pay. But if you just want to get from here to there, go for the basic fare. Why pay extra for check-in luggage? It adds weight, and that means more fuel.

Quick and Efficient Operations

These airlines are fast. From the time the plane lands, it takes just 40 minutes to an hour to get back in the sky. This quick turnaround lets the airline use the plane more, and that’s one of the secrets of their success. They keep things simple, focus on quick turnaround, and use just one type of plane like AirAsia Philippines with the Airbus A320. Cebu Pacific has an All-Airbus fleet too, including A330-900neo, A321neo, A320neo, A321ceo, and A320ceo, plus ATR 72-600 turboprops for short hops.

Connecting More Places

Low cost carriers are great for getting to smaller cities and places further from big airports. Cebu Pacific flies from hubs like Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, Kalibo, and Iloilo, connecting islands with A320s and ATR 72s. AirAsia Philippines has hubs in Manila, Cebu, and Clark, but they don’t fly to small airports because they don’t use turboprops.

Embracing Technology for Convenience

Airlines like Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines love technology. It makes things faster for passengers and helps them run things better. Cebu Pacific pushes online check-in to save time and paper. AirAsia’s Superapp does the same and even lets you book hotels and rides. Both airlines are going green with technology to make decisions faster and cut down on waste.

So, should you fly low cost airlines? I’d say yes. It’s still up to you, but I think it’s worth more than what you pay for.
