AirAsia Philippines Gears Up for Busy Holiday Season

AirAsia Philippines is ramping up its operations as it prepares for one of the busiest times of the year: All Souls and All Saints Day. The airline has seen more than 65,000 guests book over 700 flights for travel between October 28 and November 2. Popular destinations this season include Caticlan, Cebu, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Davao, Puerto Princesa, and Iloilo.

Ready for the Influx of Travelers

First Officer Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Country Head, assures that the airline is well-prepared for the increased number of travelers. “We know how important this annual commemoration is to most Filipinos and AirAsia is more than ready to accommodate the greater influx of travelers during these times,” he said. The airline has boosted its manpower and even set up additional Customer Happiness helpdesks at NAIA Terminal 2. Dailisan also highlighted the airline’s impressive On-Time-Performance, which has recently hit a high of 97%.

AirAsia is working closely with regulatory bodies like the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to ensure everything runs smoothly. “To ensure the continued safety and swift travel of our guests, the airline continues to coordinate and align its efforts with our regulatory partners,” Dailisan added.

To make the travel experience even more convenient, AirAsia’s NAIA Terminal 2 is equipped with 20 check-in counters. Travelers also have the option to check-in through self-service kiosks or the airasia Superapp.

More Than Just Family Reunions

While the long weekend is traditionally a time for family gatherings, AirAsia Philippines has noticed an uptick in international leisure travel as well. Destinations like Incheon, Taipei, Osaka, Hong Kong, Narita, and Bangkok are also getting attention. “Apart from observing Undas, Filipinos are also taking advantage of the extended holiday,” Dailisan noted.

To encourage even more travel planning, AirAsia Philippines is launching a PISO SALE from October 16 to October 25, 2023. This sale is for both domestic and international travel from March 4, 2024, to March 19, 2025. Additionally, the airline is opening a new ticketing office at NAIA Terminal 3 to better serve its guests.

As the busy season approaches, AirAsia advises travelers to give themselves plenty of time before their flights at NAIA Terminal 2 and 3. This will help make their travel experience more convenient and hassle-free.
