AirAsia Philippines increases Vis-Min frequency for holiday demand

In anticipation of increased holiday mobility, AirAsia Philippines is increasing flight frequency to its Vis-Min destinations. The world’s best low-cost airline sees a strong upward trend toward the end of the year, finishing October with a 90 percent load factor, just two percent below its pre-pandemic records in the same month.

AirAsia Philippines’ weekly flight frequency to the following destinations will be increased beginning November 1: Manila-Cebu: 56x; Manila-Tacloban: 35x; Manila-Caticlan: 34x; Manila to Cagayan De Oro, Davao, and Iloilo: 28x; Manila to Kalibo, Tagbilaran, and Puerto Princesa: 21x; and Manila-Zamboanga: 7x. Meanwhile, weekly flights from the AirAsia Cebu hub to Davao and Cagayan are now four times as frequent; Caticlan is seven times as frequent; and Puerto Princesa is three times as frequent.

AirAsia Philippines anticipates that Filipinos will begin planning their international travel for the December holidays as early as November. This increases the number of weekly international flights from Manila to Bangkok (Don Mueang) to 11 and to Seoul (Incheon) to 10. By December, Hong Kong flights had been increased to three times per week.

The airline will hold the third leg of its highly anticipated PISO Sale from November 07 to 13, slashing base fares down to Php 1.00 to metro cities like Cebu and Davao, or leading leisure destinations like Caticlan and Tagbilaran. The PISO Sale is valid for travel from 1 May 2023 to 30 March 2024. Base fares to international destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Kota Kinabalu, Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok, and Bali were also reduced to as low as Php 511 during the sale event.

“Our focus at AirAsia is to make sure our brand of affordable world-class air service is available to Filipinos during seasons they need it most. The growth in our number of flights to various destinations comes timely as we brace for the holiday exodus. And we aim to sustain this high demand going to 2023 by having promos like the PISO sale intended for travels happening next year,” shares AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla.
