In preparation for the many celebrations happening in Japan in February, AirAsia Philippines has launched service between Manila and Tokyo via Narita. The maiden flight left NAIA Terminal 3 at 4:15 am and landed at Narita International Airport at 9:45 am, with an 84% fill factor (Japan Standard Time). The return aircraft took off from Narita Airport Terminal 3 at 11:25 a.m. and arrived at NAIA T3 at 2:55 p.m. (local time).
AirAsia’s daily Tokyo–Narita trip, which was the airline’s second best-selling foreign destination in January 2023, is projected to restore Japan to its former prominence as one of the airline’s leading East Asian destinations.
As a special surprise, the AirAsia Philippines is now running a sale with a one-way base price to Tokyo starting at only PhP22. Other cities for sale include Osaka in Japan, Taipei in Taiwan, Hong Kong in China, Bali in Indonesia, Kaohsiung in Taiwan, and Caticlan, Tagbilaran in the Philippines, Bacolod in the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines, and Iloilo in the Philippines. Bookings for the 2.2 Red Hot Sale may be made until February 5 for trips departing between now and October 11, 2023.
AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla shares, “Our maiden flight to Tokyo is just one of the many regional destinations we plan to open this first quarter of the year as we aim to fully restore our international capacity in coming months. Our commitment has always been about empowering Filipinos by providing them with best value deals to fulfill their travel goals.”
Passengers on the maiden flights were treated to Asean hospitality and gift bags filled with products from AirAsia’s partner merchants, including Yobick, HAN Skincare Cosmetics, Dewytree, Hakubaku, Passage Foods, Trizie, The Adventure, Biore, Jergens, Caronia, and Esme Organics.
AirAsia Philippines has taken things to the next level by launching the largest luggage option in the industry, at 60 pounds. Guests may now check in as much luggage as they want, within the weight restriction, for as little as PhP1,280 for domestic flights and PhP2,760 for international flights. This innovative luggage option is available for purchase via all AirAsia sales channels, including the official website, the AirAsia Super App, and authorized travel agencies.
Existing AirAsia passengers may still buy the 60KG luggage via Manage My Booking up until 4 hours before their departure. Meanwhile, 20KG, 25KG, 30KG, and 40KG are still available as the standard weight choices for guests.
