AirAsia Philippines Nears 2023 Target Sales Goals

AirAsia Philippines is on the verge of hitting its target sales for the year 2023. As of October, the airline has successfully sold 90% of its total seat target. The company is also filling its planes, boasting an impressive average load factor of 92%. This strong performance is a clear sign of the airline’s robust recovery and the growing desire for travel among Filipinos.

Holiday Travel Surge

The festive season in the Philippines is renowned for its vibrancy and length, often considered the longest in the world. This year, the holiday period is anticipated to attract around 125,000 passengers daily from mid-December through early January, as reported by the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA). With the holidays around the corner, AirAsia Philippines is set to exceed its 2022 performance by a substantial 60.07%. This uptick is driven by the eagerness of Filipinos to explore both local and international destinations during the festive season.

Promotions Fueling the Flight Fever

To maintain the momentum of travel, AirAsia Philippines launched the “Ready, Set, Go 11.11 SALE.” This promotion, running from November 6 to 12, offers one-way base fares starting at just PhP91 for domestic routes and between PHP511 to P2,911 for international destinations. The sale is designed for travel dates from November 6, 2023, to April 30, 2024, providing ample opportunity for travelers to secure great deals well in advance.

Ricky Isla, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Philippines, notes that travelers, especially those in groups like families and friends, tend to book their flights 30 to 45 days before their intended travel dates. By offering lower ticket prices and more choices, AirAsia Philippines is enabling its customers to plan their end-of-year trips and activities with ease. Isla emphasizes the benefits of early bookings, which often come with the advantage of lower fares.

As of November 6, over 150,000 guests have booked their flights with AirAsia Philippines for the period of December 15 to 31, 2023. Although this number currently stands at 50% of the bookings made last year for the same timeframe, the airline is confident that it will surpass last year’s figures. This confidence stems from the renewed enthusiasm for travel experiences among its guests.
