Airbus is on track to reach its annual delivery target of 720 aircraft after a strong performance in November, delivering 64 planes to 40 different customers. This brings the total deliveries for the year to 623, leaving only 97 aircraft to be delivered in December.
Confidence and Visibility
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury expressed confidence in reaching the target, stating that the company is “well placed” for November and December deliveries. He highlighted the strong performance in October, with 71 deliveries, as a positive indicator for the final months of the year.
Airbus also added 113 gross orders to its books in November, including a repeat order for 30 A220 aircraft from airBaltic and an additional 15 A350-900 widebodies from Emirates. The company also received an order for 60 A320neo family aircraft from leasing firm SMBC Aviation Capital.
Boeing Playing Catch-Up
Meanwhile, Boeing has delivered 351 of its 737 family aircraft so far in 2023, just 25 airframes short of its revised annual target of 375-400 units. The company will release its final figures for November on December 13th.
With strong November deliveries and a solid order book, Airbus is well-positioned to achieve its annual target of 720 aircraft deliveries. Both Airbus and Boeing are expected to continue delivering a significant number of aircraft in the coming months, indicating a healthy demand for commercial air travel.
