Boeing is Setting 737 High Production Goals for July 2025

Boeing is setting its sights on increasing the production of its popular 737 jets, including the 737 MAX. The company aims to produce at least 57 of these planes every month by July 2025. This ambitious goal comes as the aviation world sees a rebound in air travel and aircraft sales.

The Road to Recovery

Boeing had initially set this production target a few years back but had to abandon it in 2019. The 737 MAX was grounded worldwide after two fatal crashes, putting a dent in the company’s plans. However, Boeing is now back on track, and the goal aligns with the company’s recovery strategy.

The company’s CEO, Dave Calhoun, even hinted that increasing the rate to 60 jets a month could be a possibility, especially with new orders coming in, like the nearly 200 MAXs ordered by Air India this year.

The Production Timeline

According to a report from Reuters, Boeing’s master schedule for suppliers was updated in mid-September to reflect these new targets. The company plans to produce 42 jets a month by December 2023. The production rate will then increase to 47.2 jets by June 2024 and 52.5 jets by December 2024.

Finally, Boeing aims to stabilize the production rate at 57.7 jets per month by July 2025. Before the 737 MAX grounding in 2019, Boeing was already producing 52 jets a month, aiming for 57.

Keeping Up with the Competition

Airbus is also ramping up production and has set a goal to produce 75 of its best-selling A320neo jets a month by 2026. The competition is heating up, but Boeing is not backing down. The second half of 2024 will be crucial for Boeing to demonstrate that it can maintain a stable supply chain and stick to its ramp-up plan.

Boeing is making moves to increase the production of its 737 jets, aiming for at least 57 a month by July 2025. This comes as the company recovers from the 737 MAX crisis and faces stiff competition from Airbus. The next couple of years will be crucial for Boeing to meet these ambitious goals and keep up with the demand.
