The official launch took place at the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) hangar at Hong Kong International Airport, with distinguished guests, valued customers, Cathay members, and media in attendance.
The highlight of the retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER is the all-new Cathay Business Class Aria Suite. Designed for maximum comfort and privacy, this suite sets a new standard in passenger experience. The airline has also introduced a refreshed Premium Economy cabin and an updated Economy cabin, ensuring passengers in every class enjoy a new level of comfort. These changes are just the beginning, as Cathay Pacific plans to introduce more seat products over the next three years.
Cathay Group’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, shared the airline’s commitment to enhancing its services. She said, “At Cathay, we believe in moving people forward in life. This purpose goes beyond simply flying customers to their destinations; we are deeply woven into Hong Kong’s identity as a global aviation hub. To solidify our role in both the industry and the community, we’ve committed a significant investment of over HK$100 billion over the next seven years into our fleet, cabin products, lounges, and digital and sustainability leadership, reflecting our confidence in Hong Kong’s long-term growth and its position as a key player in global aviation.”
Future Upgrades on the Horizon
Cathay Pacific has big plans for its fleet. Over the next three years, the airline will introduce a series of new seat products. The first wave of upgrades includes the new Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins for the Boeing 777-300ER. In addition, passengers can look forward to a world-leading First Class experience onboard Cathay’s Boeing 777-9 aircraft. There will also be a new flat-bed Business Class product for the Airbus A330s.
Cathay’s investment in new aircraft, innovative technology, and ground-breaking facilities is aimed at providing a better travel experience for all passengers. These updates are part of the airline’s commitment to moving “beyond expectations – in the air, on the ground, and in every experience we create.”
Cathay Pacific’s new cabin products are part of its broader investment in Hong Kong’s future as a global aviation hub. The airline plans to invest over HK$100 billion into fleet upgrades, lounge enhancements, and digital advancements over the next seven years. This long-term investment reflects Cathay Pacific’s confidence in Hong Kong’s continued growth as a key player in global aviation.
The newly launched Boeing 777-300ER, with its upgraded cabins, will continue to be rolled out on more routes, giving passengers across the globe the chance to experience the latest in Cathay Pacific’s inflight service.
