Cathay Pacific will introduce flights to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport starting on April 24, 2025. This new route marks the airline’s continued efforts to increase its presence in North America and meet the growing demand for travel between the U.S. and Hong Kong. The Hong Kong-based carrier will offer four weekly flights to Dallas-Fort Worth, utilizing its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.
Cathay Pacific’s expansion into Dallas-Fort Worth is an exciting development for both the airline and travelers, as it brings more international connectivity to one of the busiest airports in the U.S. The airline’s ongoing growth in North America signals a bright future for air travel between Hong Kong and the U.S.
With the addition of Dallas-Fort Worth, Cathay Pacific strengthens its North American network to eight destinations. The airline currently operates passenger flights to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. Dallas will be the sixth U.S. city in Cathay Pacific’s network. The new service also enhances connectivity for passengers flying through Dallas-Fort Worth, which is a major hub for American Airlines, Cathay Pacific’s Oneworld Alliance partner. This partnership will enable smoother connections for travelers headed to various domestic destinations in the U.S.
Strategic Expansion in 2025
Cathay Pacific is planning to ramp up its operations in North America throughout 2025. By May, the airline will operate up to three daily flights to major U.S. cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Currently, the airline runs 20 weekly flights to New York, 13 to Los Angeles, and 10 to San Francisco. This increased frequency reflects the airline’s commitment to meeting rising travel demands and offering more choices for passengers.
Though there are no direct passenger flights between Hong Kong and Dallas at present, Cathay Pacific’s cargo unit has been operating flights between the two cities via Anchorage. The launch of this new passenger service will further solidify the connection between these two important business and travel hubs.
The new route will feature Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, known for its modern design and advanced features. This aircraft offers a quiet and comfortable cabin environment, long-range capabilities, and greater fuel efficiency, making it well-suited for long-haul flights such as those between Hong Kong and Dallas. Passengers will benefit from enhanced in-flight comfort, including spacious seating arrangements, advanced entertainment options, and improved cabin air quality.
The addition of Dallas-Fort Worth to Cathay Pacific’s network aligns with the airline’s broader strategy of strengthening its position as a global carrier, connecting Asia to key markets in North America. The new route will offer passengers in both regions more options for direct travel, whether for business or leisure. With Cathay Pacific’s strong presence in the Oneworld Alliance and its strategic partnership with American Airlines, the new Dallas route will provide seamless travel experiences for passengers.
