As Cebu Pacific transitions to an all NEO fleet, it’s time to ride their last Airbus A330-300 widebody jet while it’s still in the fleet. The airline used to operate a fleet of eight Airbus A330-300 planes, but that will soon change. The airline is replacing all their A330-300s with the more modern and efficient A330-900neo or A330neo. Now, Cebu Pacific only has one A330-300, otherwise known as A330ceo (Current Engine Option), in the fleet, which is RP-C3348.
RP-C3348 is the Last A330ceo in the Cebu Pacific Fleet
RP-C3348 was delivered to the Cebu Pacific fleet in May 2017, making it just 5.9 years old as of this writing. It carries MSN (Manufacturing Serial Number) 1789 and 436 passengers. The aircraft has a higher gross weight than previous versions and a designation of A330-343E, which means that the plane is powered by Rolls Royce Trent 700 turbofan engines.
While both Cebu Pacific’s A330ceo and A330neo have an all-economy monoclass configuration, the A330ceo has 436 seats, while the A330neo has 459 seats. The A330neo uses a new cabin design, colors, and LED lighting effects, while the A330ceo still uses old interiors but with reclining seats. Both planes have mobile device charging outlets on each seat.
The A330neo uses Rolls Royce Trent 7000 turbofan engines, which are more efficient and quieter than the A330ceo’s Trent 700 turbofan engines. Both planes are the same size, but the A330neo can carry more passengers due to its higher Maximum Take Off Weight or MTOW of 251T, compared to the A330ceo’s MTOW of 235T. The A330neo has a new wing design, which is similar to the A350, but not exactly the same.
Where RP-C3348 Flies To
Cebu Pacific will soon be operating an all Airbus NEO fleet, and all A330ceo planes will be out of the fleet. The airline expects to receive three more A330neos this year. So, RP-C3348, the last remaining A330ceo in the Cebu Pacific fleet, may exit this year. According to Flightradar24, RP-C3348 is mostly being used for flights to Dubai and Hong Kong, but its destinations are subject to change and may perhaps be used for some domestic destinations.
If you feel you will miss those RR Trent 700 Cebu Pacific A330s, better book a flight now. To all who get to ride the last A330ceo in the Cebu Pacific fleet, don’t forget to take pictures.
