Cebu Pacific is a well-known equal-opportunity airline. You can be hired as long as you can perform the tasks required for the job and meet the qualifications. Gender, whether male, female, or LGBTQ, is irrelevant. Cebu Pacific recently hired a transwoman as a flight attendant, making her the third transwoman to be given the opportunity to earn her wings.
Vianca Lim, along with the rest of CebGo batch 15, received her wings on September 28. Vianca Lim is the third transwoman hired by the airline as a flight attendant, following Jess Labares and Mikee Vitug.
In her recent post on Facebook, Vianca said, “After a month of sleepless nights because of everyday exams and recitation, procedures that needs to be memorized, maintaining our grooming, tiring drills, judgement from people that I wont be accepted because of my gender identity, well now the moment has come. I finally earned my wings and I can finally say it’s all worth it. I’ve made it!!”
“Thank you so much Lord for the guidance and knowledge, to my family, boyfriend, dormmates, batchy friends and my og friends out there. Thank you for the love and support and believing in me. I love you all”, she continued.
Being a cabin crew knows no gender preference
Being a flight attendant is open to all genders. It is an equal-opportunity job in which male, female, and LGBTQ cabin crew members all have the same task of ensuring the safety of the passengers on board and attending to their needs. They all receive the same training and receive no special treatment. They will hire you as long as you meet the qualifications and the company sees your potential to do the job of a flight attendant.
Cebu Pacific treats everyone equally, regardless of gender. During Pride Month, Cebu Pacific created a video tribute to all of their LGBTQ flight crew and employees, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
So, if you’re wondering if Cebu Pacific accepts transgenders as flight attendants, I hope this helps. You can get hired and earn your wings if you meet all of the requirements and qualifications.
Congratulations Vianca and the rest of CebGo batch 15! Soar high and safe skies always! My praise and salute to Cebu Pacific as well! I am sure the LGBTQ community supports you big time!
