Travel enthusiasts in the Philippines can rejoice as Cebu Pacific has announced the resumption of direct flights between Manila and Laoag starting May 22nd. After halting operations to Laoag in January 2017, the airline’s return to the route has been eagerly anticipated by many.
Boosting Domestic Connectivity
The reintroduction of the Laoag route marks a significant milestone for Cebu Pacific as it becomes the airline’s 35th domestic destination. To provide a seamless and enjoyable travel experience, Cebu Pacific will deploy its Airbus A320 fleet for the daily Manila-Laoag service.
In a recent press release, Xander Lao, the President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific, shared his enthusiasm about reconnecting Manila with Laoag, a city renowned for its role in preserving the Philippines’ rich history and culture.
Discovering the Beauty of Ilocos Region
Lao expressed his hopes that the new Laoag route would “encourage more people to travel and experience the Ilocos region.” By making Laoag more accessible, Cebu Pacific will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the region’s tourism industry, as more visitors can explore Laoag’s stunning landscapes and surrounding attractions.
The flight schedule for the Manila-Laoag service will be as follows: Flight 5J-404 departs from Manila at 4:05 AM and arrives in Laoag at 5:25 AM. For the return journey, flight 5J-405 takes off from Laoag at 6:05 AM and touches down in Manila at 7:25 AM.
Expanded Travel Options for Tourists and Locals
Before Cebu Pacific’s announcement, Philippine Airlines was the sole operator of flights to Laoag through its subsidiary, PAL Express. The return of Cebu Pacific to Laoag provides travelers with an additional low-cost choice for reaching the capital city of Ilocos Norte province.
Increased competition between airlines is likely to benefit passengers, offering more options and potentially leading to lower prices as carriers compete for customers.
An Exciting Time for Philippine Tourism
The resumption of Cebu Pacific’s Manila-Laoag flights is a significant development for both the airline and the local tourism industry. The return of this connection makes it easier for travelers to explore the gorgeous Ilocos region, and with more options than ever before, there has never been a better time to plan your next Philippine adventure.
