Delta Airlines is expanding its global reach with the launch of its first-ever nonstop service from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN) on June 12, 2025. This new route will offer travelers in the Mountain West and Southwest U.S. seamless connections to key destinations across Asia. The route will be operated using Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350, offering passengers modern amenities and an enhanced travel experience. The new flight also provides access to Delta’s upgraded terminal and the expansive Delta Sky Club in Salt Lake City, ensuring a smooth journey for all.
Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, Joe Esposito, emphasized the benefits of the new route. He noted that the service strengthens Delta’s global network and connects U.S. travelers to Asia through its hub in Seoul. Esposito highlighted the partnership between Delta and Korean Air, which allows for unmatched connectivity between the U.S. and Asia, particularly for customers in the interior U.S.
The new Salt Lake City to Seoul route is Delta’s fifth direct U.S. connection to Seoul, adding to existing flights from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle. Together with Korean Air, Delta now offers access to Seoul from 14 U.S. cities, providing more options for travelers heading to Asia. This expansion enhances Delta’s position as the largest foreign carrier at Incheon International Airport, solidifying its role in connecting U.S. passengers to Asia.
Lee Hag-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, expressed confidence in the partnership with Delta. He stated that this collaboration will continue to strengthen Incheon’s role as a global hub and reinforce both companies’ leadership in the global aviation market.
In Salt Lake City, Delta’s operations dominate, offering more flights than any other carrier combined. Delta operates nearly 250 peak-day departures to more than 90 destinations worldwide, including nonstop service to key international cities like Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Mexico City. Ongoing investments in Salt Lake City’s airport infrastructure, including the 900,000-square-foot Concourse A, which opened in 2020, further reinforce Delta’s commitment to the city.
