Delta Airlines Adjusts Flight Schedule to Israel

Delta Airlines Adjusts Flight Schedule to Israel

Delta Airlines, in response to the ongoing conflict in the region, has announced additional cancellations of flights between the United States and Israel. This decision shows Delta’s commitment to continuously monitoring the security environment in Israel, particularly in relation to operations at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv (TLV). The airline expresses its support for all those impacted by these challenging circumstances and is actively working on safe travel alternatives for its customers.

Delta has extended the cancellation of flights between TLV and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) until March 29, 2024. Consequently, the sales of these flights have been suspended. Additionally, since October, Delta had already suspended bookings for TLV flights to and from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), and these services remain suspended.

Communication and Alternatives for Travelers

Delta is processing these cancellations and ensuring that affected customers are notified through the Fly Delta app and the contact information provided in their reservations. While direct flights on Delta may be impacted, seats on Delta partner airlines remain bookable on delta.com and through Delta Reservations, offering alternatives when available.

The airline is vigilantly monitoring the security situation and assessing its operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports. This includes considerations of the most recent U.S. State Department travel advisory. Delta’s priority is to ensure the safety and security of its passengers and crew, adapting its operations in response to evolving circumstances.

Delta has put a travel waiver in place for customers who booked travel before October 11, 2023, to or from TLV. This waiver allows for rebooking on available flights through September 6, 2024. For those customers who wish to cancel their travel plans due to the ongoing situation, Delta offers the option to request refunds via the Fly Delta app, delta.com, or by calling Delta Reservations for assistance.

In a show of solidarity and support, Delta has contributed $1 million to the American Red Cross for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This donation is aimed at providing humanitarian efforts for Israelis, Palestinians, and all people impacted in the region. This contribution comes in addition to Delta’s $1 million grant to the American Red Cross as part of the Annual Disaster Giving Program partner.
