Etihad Airways Increases Abu Dhabi – Kuala Lumpur Flights

Etihad Airways is adding to its flight schedule between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. The airline will introduce a second daily flight on January 15, 2024, increasing the total to 14 flights per week between these two cities. This addition aims to provide more travel options for residents of the UAE looking to visit Malaysia, as well as to encourage more tourism to Abu Dhabi.

Boost in Annual Capacity and Cargo

With this new flight addition, Etihad Airways will offer 425,000 seats annually between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. This represents a 75% increase in year-on-year capacity. The extra flight frequency will also open up more cargo capacity, which is good news for business and trade between the two nations.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital, is known for its stunning skyline, which includes the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. The city is a melting pot of cultures, offering a diverse range of food, bustling markets, and cultural sites. On the other hand, Abu Dhabi is not just a transit hub but a destination in itself. The city boasts a range of attractions, from the architectural wonder of the Louvre Abu Dhabi to the thrill-seeking adventures available at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Connectivity Across Southeast Asia

The added flights are part of Etihad’s broader strategy to improve connectivity. The airline now offers up to 77 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and key Southeast Asian cities including Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phuket, Manila, Jakarta, and Singapore. This comes after Etihad Airways recently revamped its network, aiming for sustainable growth and better connecting Abu Dhabi to the rest of the world.
