Finnair keeps three new European routes year-round

Finnair is keeping three of its newer European routes in the schedule all year instead of limiting them to summer 2026. The airline said flights to Luxembourg, Valencia, and Turin will now continue year-round, giving travelers more options across both summer and winter.

“We are constantly developing our network and increasing capacity where it best serves our customers. Year-round connections ensure that our customers can enjoy smooth and reliable travel options throughout the seasons”, says Antti Tolvanen, Finnair’s Senior Vice President, Network and Revenue Optimisation.

The move gives Finnair more flexibility in markets that attract different types of travelers. Luxembourg continues to draw business passengers and connecting travelers heading to Helsinki and onward to the airline’s wider network. Finnair will increase Luxembourg service from three weekly flights in summer to four weekly flights in winter.

More winter flights for city breaks and ski travel

Valencia and Turin will also stay on the map through the colder months, each serving a different kind of demand. Valencia gives travelers a warm-weather city break during winter, and Finnair will keep four weekly flights on the route through the season.

Turin, on the other hand, fits winter travel for passengers heading toward the Western Alps. Finnair will operate the route once a week through the winter season, then raise it to twice a week during the peak winter sports period from January to March. In summer, the airline will continue flying to Turin three times a week.

This year-round setup gives Finnair a more balanced schedule, with routes that can serve business travel, leisure demand, and connecting traffic depending on the season.

Finnair also keeps Stavanger and Umeå in the network

Two other previously announced routes, Stavanger and Umeå, will also continue through the year. Finnair said it will operate nine weekly flights to Stavanger next winter. Six outbound flights from Helsinki will run via Stockholm Arlanda, and three will operate nonstop to Stavanger. All return flights from Stavanger to Helsinki will stop in Stockholm, which also supports travel between Stavanger and Stockholm.

Umeå will have 10 weekly winter services, and those flights will operate via Vaasa.

These year-round extensions are part of a wider network push. Last year, Finnair announced 12 new European destinations for the coming summer. The airline is also set to begin direct flights to Toronto in May and open a new route to Melbourne, Australia, in October.
