As we say, progress is progress, no matter how big or small. And this is definitely evident for Philippine Airlines (PAL) as they continue to make improvements in their services. Based on Cirium’s on-time performance report for December 2023, PAL ranked 2nd in terms of its OTP among Asia Pacific carriers.
According to the recent Cirium report, PAL achieved an on-time arrival rate of 83.08%. This comes at a time during the peak season, with a lot of travelers for the holiday season. A total of 9,765 PAL flights were tracked, which is 99.87% of its total number of flights. It is also a significant achievement considering the congestion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.
Securing the #1 slot is Thai AirAsia, while Singapore Airlines followed PAL in terms of on-time arrival at 83.01%. Other airlines in the top 10 for best on-time performance in the Asia Pacific region are ANA, AirAsia Malaysia, Hainan Airlines, JAL, Vietnam Airlines, Indonesia AirAsia, and Garuda Indonesia.
With such performance for December 2023, it’s not far-fetched that PAL could soon secure the #1 slot in terms of on-time performance.
