There is no doubt that Philippine Airlines (PAL) is serious about its network expansion. Speaking of which, here’s something new! PAL and American Airlines have joined forces to launch a codeshare partnership, opening up new travel possibilities across the Pacific.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for Filipinos, as PAL becomes the first Philippine carrier to offer marketed flights to several U.S. destinations. American passengers, on the other hand, can now easily book trips to Manila, the vibrant Pearl of the Orient, and Cebu, the gateway to stunning beaches and island paradise.
A Win-Win Situation
The partnership works like this: PAL has placed its “PR” code on seven of American’s flights between Los Angeles and major U.S. cities like Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, and Washington, D.C. This seamless connection means you can conveniently fly from Manila to these destinations with just one booking.
But the benefits go beyond Los Angeles. American passengers can now book flights on aa.com for codeshare flights operated by PAL to Manila and Cebu via Tokyo. Additionally, flights to Manila from Honolulu and Guam are now available through this partnership.
“This partnership with American Airlines unlocks a world of possibilities for travelers between Asia and the United States,” said Eric David Anderson, PAL’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re thrilled to expand our global reach and offer more opportunities to discover the wonders of the Philippines.”
For American Airlines, the partnership opens doors to a thriving market. “We’re excited to partner with PAL and provide our customers with easy access to Manila, the region’s economic hub, and Cebu, a beach paradise,” said Anmol Bhargava, American’s Vice President of Global Alliances and Partnerships. “The Philippines is a booming economy, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with PAL.”
This codeshare partnership is a win-win for both airlines and travelers. Filipinos gain access to more U.S. destinations through convenient connections, while American passengers can explore the beauty and culture of the Philippines with ease.
