Philippine Airlines will launch its Domestic Comfort Class, formerly known as the “domestic premium economy class,” on September 15. This is a newly rebranded domestic premium economy seat with additional benefits. This class, however, will only be available in a few aircraft: bi-class A330s, A321ceo, A320, and Q400 NG.
Aside from a higher seat pitch, domestic comfort class will offer the following perks:
- Priority check-in and boarding
- 25kg Free Baggage Allowance for checked-in baggage
- 100% mileage accrual for Mabuhay Miles members
- Hot sandwiches and a choice of drinks
- Seating near or at the front of the cabin, for a faster boarding and deplaning experience
Where are these seats located?
These are the beige economy seats on board the A321ceos and select A330 aircraft. These are the aircraft with seats that do not have IFEs. Other A330s in the fleet with tri-class configurations still have premium economy seats with IFEs.
There are 18 domestic comfort class seats on the A321ceos and 27 on bi-class A330s. The seat pitch on these is 34 inches. Tall people should find it quite comfortable. The width of the comfort class seats on both A321ceos and bi-class A330s is 17.7 inches. These seats are located between business and regular economy classes.
The comfort class seats on the A320s and Q400s are located in the first two rows from the front of the aircraft.
On international flights, PAL will continue to offer a full Premium Economy service on Airbus A350 and A330 tri-class aircraft, with a separate private cabin and specially designed wider seats with personal video entertainment screens, legrests, and extra recline, as well as a 38-inch seat pitch.
