Starting October 29, 2023, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is all set to resume daily flights between Manila and Tuguegarao. This new route is more than just a connection between two cities; it’s a gateway to the economic center of the Cagayan Valley. Travelers from Metro Manila and other points in PAL’s domestic and regional network can now easily reach Tuguegarao via Manila.
Captain Stanley K. Ng, PAL President & Chief Operating Officer, shared his excitement about this new connection: “We are looking forward to serving Tuguegarao and the people of Cagayan Province with convenient daily flights to and from Manila starting this October. Philippine Airlines will help strengthen air connectivity to boost travel between the vibrant heart of the Cagayan Valley region and various Philippine tourist and business centers such as Cebu, Davao, and Bacolod, as well as key Asian destinations such as Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.”

A Growing City
Tuguegarao City, the capital of the Province of Cagayan, is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Philippines. With an estimated population of over 180,000 residents, it’s a bustling hub that’s now more accessible, thanks to PAL’s resumed service.
PAL previously operated this route from October 2014 until June 2019. The resumption of this service is a significant step in reconnecting the region with the rest of the country and neighboring Asian destinations.
More Connections in Northern Luzon
PAL is not just stopping at Tuguegarao. The airline also offers twice-daily flights between Manila and Laoag City in the Ilocos Region, three weekly flights between Cebu and Baguio City, and daily flights between Manila and Basco, Batanes.
The resumption of the Manila-Tuguegarao route is a promising sign for travelers and the local economy. It’s a move that brings people closer, fosters business opportunities, and promotes tourism in the region. With PAL at the helm, the skies are open, and the vibrant heart of the Cagayan Valley is just a flight away.
