He remarked, “We are delighted to sign this long-term service agreement with Philippine Airlines for their Trent XWB-97 powered Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, as part of their long-haul fleet modernization program.” He further emphasized their commitment to maximizing the airline’s fleet performance, which already includes Trent 700 powered Airbus A330-300 and Trent XWB-84 powered Airbus A350-900.

Limqueco, the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at Philippine Airlines, reciprocated this sentiment, highlighting the robust relationship built over years between the two entities. Limqueco acknowledged the instrumental role of Rolls-Royce’s engines in powering their existing fleet of Airbus A350-900 and A330-300 aircraft. He expressed high hopes for the Trent XWB-97 engines, saying, “we expect the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines to give us the power, performance and all-around efficiency to operate our transpacific and transpolar flights that provide vital connections to North America from the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia.”
