It seems like travelers from the Visayas and Mindanao region have more options to travel to their destinations without having to transit via Manila. Philippine Airlines has announced ramping up flights from its Cebu hub beginning September 12.
On the table are flights from Cebu to Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, Caticlan, Clark, and Bacolod. PAL will add three weekly flights between Cebu and Puerto Princesa, resulting in more convenient noontime departures. Here are the new flights:
- PR 2347 Cebu-Puerto Princesa Daily ETD 11AM
- PR 2348 Puerto Princesa-Cebu Daily ETD 1PM
Cebu to Iloilo
PAL currently flies between Cebu and Iloilo 11 times weekly. However, beginning September 12, the airlines will push this to 14 flights weekly, or twice daily flights. Below are the new flights between Cebu and Iloilo:
- PR 2380 Cebu-Iloilo – Tu/Th/Sa ETD 7:30AM
- PR 2384 Cebu-Iloilo – M/W/F/Su ETD10:35AM
- PR 2388 Cebu-Iloilo – Daily ETD 5:15PM
- PR 2385 Iloilo-Cebu – M/W/F/Su ETD 11:50AM
- PR 2381 Iloilo-Cebu – Tu/Th/Sa ETD 12:50PM
- PR 2389 Iloilo-Cebu – Daily ETD 6:40PM
Cebu to Caticlan
Boracay has always been a favorite destination of many Filipinos. PAL is adding more direct flights from Cebu to Caticlan, the gateway to Boracay. As such, flights between Cebu and Caticlan (Boracay) will be twice daily with the addition of these flights:
- PR2359 Cebu-Caticlan — Daily ETD 7:35 AM
- PR 2360 Caticlan-Cebu — Daily ETD 9:10 AM
- PR 2368 Cebu-Caticlan — Daily ETD 3:30 PM
- PR 2369 Caticlan-Cebu — Daily ETD 5:05 PM
Cebu to Clark
Philippine Airlines is adding three more flights between Cebu and Clark every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. This will bring the total number of flights between the two cities to seven.
- PR 2833 Cebu-Clark — Daily ETD 11:00AM
- PR 2834 Clark-Cebu — Daily ETD 1:15PM
Last but not least, Cebu to Bacolod flights will increase to seven times weekly, featuring daily morning departures from each city.
- PR 2287 Cebu-Bacolod — Daily ETD 10:40 AM
- PR 2288 Bacolod-Cebu — Daily ETD 11:50 AM
With more flights from Cebu, I hope the current NAIA congestion will be slowly addressed. Yes, we are not even within pre-pandemic levels yet.
