Singapore Airlines starts Western Sydney daily flights

Singapore Airlines will launch daily non-stop flights between Singapore and Western Sydney International Airport on November 23, 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The new service gives the airline a second airport in Sydney and adds another option for travelers heading to Australia’s biggest city. It also lifts Singapore Airlines’ Sydney operation to five daily flights when combined with its four existing daily services to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport.

The airline will use its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route. The jet has 303 seats, with 40 in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class. The first flight, SQ201, is scheduled to leave Singapore at 1130hrs and arrive at Western Sydney at 2220hrs on the same day. The return service, SQ202, is set to leave Western Sydney at 2355hrs and arrive in Singapore at 0505hrs the next day.

This is a major step for Singapore Airlines in Australia. With Western Sydney added to the network, the airline will serve eight destinations in the country. It also strengthens the group’s overall presence, with Scoot already flying to three destinations in Australia.

A second Sydney airport for Singapore Airlines

The new route matters because it gives Singapore Airlines access to Sydney’s newest airport while keeping its strong presence at Kingsford Smith. For passengers, that means more flexibility in choosing where and when to fly. For the airline, it creates another entry point into one of its most important overseas markets.

Mr Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: “Singapore Airlines’ services to Australia’s newest gateway at Western Sydney will deliver more choice and strengthen connectivity to this popular destination for our customers. Western Sydney’s late-night departure capacity will enable a seamless travel journey and connections through Singapore Changi Airport, to more than 130 global destinations served by the SIA Group.”

Western Sydney International’s round-the-clock operating model also plays a big part in the plan. That late-night departure timing gives the airline another way to connect passengers into its wider network through Singapore.

Mr Simon Hickey, WSI, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Western Sydney International Airport is thrilled to be partnering with Singapore Airlines, bringing more of its Skytrax certified 5-Star service to the people of Greater Sydney. Our 24-hour capacity, coupled with Singapore Airlines’ extensive global connectivity, will open our city to the world in new and exciting ways. From Sydney to Singapore and beyond, we are pleased to help herald this new era of aviation that will ultimately give Australian travellers more choice and flexibility on when, where, and how they choose to fly.”

Singapore Airlines will continue operating its four daily services to Sydney Kingsford Smith alongside the new Western Sydney flights. That means the airline will have a total of five daily Sydney services, giving it a stronger position in a market that remains important for both business and leisure travel.
