Saudia recently rolled out a new brand look, and it’s got a lot of people talking. They’ve got a new “retro” paint job on their planes, switched up their main color to green, and yep, even the cabin crew got a uniform update. The new Saudia cabin crew uniforms are actually in dark blue, not green. They were supposed to launch these new uniforms in 2020, but the pandemic happened. So, it looks like they decided now’s a good time for a full-on brand makeover.
A Look at the New Saudia Cabin Crew Uniform
I can’t say for sure if this is the exact same uniform they planned to roll out in 2020, but from what I can see in the pictures, they look pretty similar. Maybe they made a few tweaks here and there, but let’s just assume it’s the same one.
The new uniform isn’t just for show; it’s part of Saudia’s bigger plan to improve the in-flight experience. People seem to like the changes, especially the friendly and welcoming vibe from the crew.
The uniforms themselves have a mix of colors like purple, beige, gold, and royal blue. They’ve got some cool Arabesque designs and details, from the pins to the scarves and even the blazers. It’s all inspired by Saudi culture and landscapes, which is a nice touch.
Designers of the New Saudia Cabin Crew Uniform
The new look wasn’t whipped up overnight. A group of designers and experts from within Saudia worked on it, and it took them about a year and a half to go from idea to launch. They even asked their team members for input on stuff like how comfy the material is and how easy the uniform is to wear. The final design is a solid mix of style and practicality, thanks to feedback from the inflight services team.
As for the material, they went with a blend of poly-wool and elastane. Before this, Saudia did some minor updates to their uniforms back in 2012 for the guys and 2014 for the ladies.
All in all, the new uniform covers everything from the name badge and cuff links to the suit, hat, pin, shoes, and even the travel bag. It’s a fresh new look that fits right in with Saudia’s big brand update.
