PAL Soars to New Heights in Punctuality Rankings

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has achieved an impressive milestone, ranking among the top ten most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region for 2023. This outstanding achievement puts PAL ahead of many carriers from Southeast Asia, China, and Australia.

The top ten list for 2023 included airlines from Japan, Thailand, India, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Philippine Airlines’ inclusion in this list shows its commitment and efforts to providing reliable and timely service to its passengers.

PAL’s punctuality has been consistently high throughout the year. In December 2023, PAL was the second most punctual Asia-Pacific airline, with a remarkable 83.08% of its flights arriving on schedule. This impressive performance placed it just behind a Thailand regional airline, as revealed in the Cirium On-Time Performance Report.

Over the entire year, PAL’s on-time arrival performance was 77.46%, covering approximately 105,000 recorded flights across its global network. This figure not only shows PAL’s commitment to timely service but also surpasses the average on-time performance of 73.51% for 3.76 million flights operated by airlines across the Asia-Pacific region.

Consistent Excellence

PAL consistently ranked high throughout 2023. In September and November, PAL achieved the 3rd most punctual spot, recording 84.27% and 83.38% on-time arrival performance, respectively. October saw PAL at the 4th spot with 82.74% on-time flights, and in August, it ranked 7th with 75.36% on-time flights.

For 2023 overall, PAL placed eighth among the Top Airline Performers for the Asia Pacific region. What’s more, it was the only Philippine carrier to reach such high ranks. This full-year ranking is a result of five consecutive months of top ratings for PAL, showcasing the airline’s dedication to maintaining a high standard of punctuality.
