PAL will be launching flights to Perth beginning March 2023

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will begin regular Manila-Perth and Perth-Manila services on March 27, 2023, connecting the Philippines and Western Australia for the first time with nonstop flights. The new PAL direct flights will allow passengers to arrive in Perth in just seven (7) hours, saving them four to six hours compared to other airlines that require a stopover and flight connections in a third country.

Beginning March 27, the three weekly PAL services will run on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Travelers will board PAL’s Airbus A321neo LR aircraft, which features full-flat Business Class seats and a spacious Economy cabin designed for maximum comfort, complete with individual entertainment systems in each seat.

The PR 223 Manila-Perth flight will leave Manila at 12:05 a.m. and arrive at Perth Airport at 7:15 a.m. Flight PR 224 from Perth to Manila will depart from Terminal 1 International at 8:30 a.m. local time and arrive in Manila at 3:50 p.m.

“We are delighted to say, ‘Mabuhay, Perth!’ as we expand our network to Western Australia,” said Philippine Airlines President & COO Captain Stanley K. Ng. “The new nonstop flights give Philippine Airlines and travel partners a great opportunity to promote the Philippines as a prime tourist and business destination for travelers in Western Australia. Likewise, we invite Filipinos to do business in Perth or visit family members while discovering this dynamic Australian region and building new friendships.”

Citing a “win for Western Australia business, tourism and exports”, Perth Airport Chief Executive Office Kevin Brown said: “This exciting new route will inject more than 52,000 seats into the market each year. We’re keen to see more Filipino students choose to study in Perth to help the education sector as well as our tourism and hospitality markets. The same is true in reverse. With more than 7,000 islands and amazing beaches on offer, the Philippines also offers Western Australians an attractive holiday destination.”

“I wish to congratulate Philippine Airlines and Perth Airport on the launch of the nonstop flight between Manila and Perth. The Philippines has a strong relationship with the State of Western Australia given our trade, investment and people to people connections. I look forward to more opportunities to reinforce this relationship with the help of Philippine Airlines,” said Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega

Fourth flight to Australia

Philippine Airlines has the most flights between the Philippines and Australia. Perth joins Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane as PAL’s fourth Australian gateway, all of which are served by nonstop flights on Airbus A330 and A321neo aircraft. PAL operates 20 weekly nonstop flights to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

The first-ever direct flights between Manila and Perth will encourage Australians to visit the Philippines for business and leisure, as well as Filipinos to visit the western regions of the Australian continent. Australia is the Philippines’ third largest source of tourist visitors, with over 89,000 Australians visiting the country so far in 2022.

PAL’s service connects Perth-bound passengers flying from Los Angeles, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and points in Japan, as well as Cebu, Davao, and other key Philippine destinations, via the airline’s Manila hub.

“The schedule into Manila will maximize the opportunity to connect to some incredible Philippines destinations, including Cebu and Davao, as well as making the most of Philippine Airlines’ extensive network throughout Asia and beyond to the USA,” said Mr. Brown of Perth Airport.
