Emirates has announced the first cities to experience its newest Boeing 777 cabin interiors. Starting from August 11, 2024, the airline will introduce its refurbished Boeing 777s to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, and Brussels, offering passengers the opportunity to enjoy Emirates’ Premium Economy and its next-generation Business Class seats in a new 1-2-1 configuration.
Emirates flights on the upgraded Boeing 777s to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, and Brussels are now available for booking on emirates.com, the Emirates App, or through travel agents. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, stated, “With the addition of the newly retrofitted Boeing 777s to our fleet, we’re capturing the opportunity to introduce our highly acclaimed products like Premium Economy to more cities already served by this aircraft type in our network.”
Kazim added, “Borrowing inspiration from our flagship A380 in every cabin, our Boeing 777 with revamped interiors boast the very best in customer comfort and will feature modern design details and signature cabin finishings. Our investment and intense focus on offering the best possible product across every cabin class also ensures we provide a consistent experience on both the Boeing 777s and A380s.”
Schedule for the Upgraded Boeing 777 Services
The first upgraded Emirates Boeing 777 products will operate on the following routes:
- EK 83/84 to and from Geneva starting August 11, 2024
- EK 312/313 to and from Tokyo Haneda starting September 1, 2024
- EK 183/184 to and from Brussels starting September 11, 2024
Beginning July 1, 2024, the first Emirates Boeing 777 will undergo a comprehensive cabin interior facelift, a process that will take approximately two weeks before the aircraft returns to service.
Features of the Refurbished Boeing 777
The refurbishment plans include:
- A revamped First Class cabin
- Installation of 38 new Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration
- 24 Premium Economy seats
- 256 Economy Class seats
The Business Class seats focus on personalized privacy and comfort, converting into flat beds. They feature 20.7-inch wide seats with a pitch of up to 44 inches, staggered seating for aisle access, touch screen seat controllers, 23-inch HD screens for in-flight entertainment, personal mini-bars, large tables, ample stowage, and charging outlets. The Business Class cabin also includes a small bar for mid-flight snacks and refreshments.
Investment and Future Plans
Emirates plans to refurbish a total of 81 Boeing 777s as part of its retrofit program, which involves an investment of over USD $3 billion. This program aims to deliver the best products and customer experience in the air. The airline will announce more destinations served by these refurbished aircraft in the coming months.
Currently, Emirates operates its refurbished A380 aircraft fitted with Premium Economy to destinations such as New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo Narita, Osaka, and Dubai.
By February 2025, Emirates aims to serve over 36 cities with Premium Economy. The A350 will enter the fleet in September 2024, with more refurbished A380s and Boeing 777s rolling into service and flying to additional cities.
