Yes, remove all excess baggage for a happy journey to be a flight attendant. You have to throw out the “excess baggage” you may be carrying. It will make things heavier for you to the point that they might even make you give up along the way. Drop the excess baggage, leave it outside the door, and never come back for it. Instead, take with you everything that you will need to help you towards your goal of becoming a cabin crew.
What are these excess baggage?
“Excess baggage” is those things that are not necessary and will just be added “costs” to you on your journey to be a cabin crew. They will do you more harm than help you out. What are these things on the list that we consider “excess baggage”? Well, here they are:
- Negativity – The career and lifestyle of a flight attendant have no room for negativity. Always remember that aside from safety professionals, you have to be able to give your passengers a great flying experience. Not all passengers are traveling for vacation. Some may be flying to another country to work for a long time. Some may be seeing a sick or deceased loved one. There are indeed plenty of reasons. A negative attitude will worsen matters, especially when dealing with different passenger personalities. Remove the negativity before even thinking of becoming a cabin crew; instead, look for opportunities in challenges. Always have a positive mindset from the very start. Always smile. As a cabin crew, your genuine smile is part of your uniform; to do that, you have always had to be positive.
- Stubbornness – You have always had to be open to learning new things and to change, constant change, that is. You have to be ready to take criticisms constructively and learn new ways. In training, your trainers and mentors will correct every little mistake. Hence, you can never be stubborn. If they correct you, they expect you to change.
- Close Mindedness – Always be ready for new experiences, new beginnings, and discoveries. Once you start flying, you must be ready to open your mind and eyes to a new world and new opportunities in your cabin crew career or growth. Having a close mind will not get you beyond the recruitment process.
- Egotistical – Get rid of the ego before becoming a cabin crew. Learn to keep your feet on the ground. Instead of boasting, learn to inspire. Instead of being big-headed, learn always to be humble no matter what. Never forget where you came from and those people who supported you in this journey of becoming a cabin crew. Regardless of who you are, how much money is in your bank account, or even who you know, you will be going through the same training as the rest of the cabin crew.
Smile and have a positive mindset
Always keep a positive mindset, just like the pictures cabin crew above. Always smile, and learn always to seek happiness regardless of what happens. Unload all excess baggage before taking the first step of becoming a cabin crew and see how everything will change and work in your favor. Excess baggage weighs you down as you walk your way to being a flight attendant. Please remove them and journey light!
