Emirates Expands Premium Economy on New Boeing 777 Routes

Starting October 1, 2024, Emirates will expand its newly retrofitted Boeing 777s to more cities, offering passengers an enhanced travel experience. Zurich and Riyadh are the latest destinations to be served by these upgraded aircraft, featuring Emirates’ highly praised Premium Economy product and a refreshed Business Class cabin. The airline is also set to introduce these upgraded aircraft to Geneva and Brussels, making them the first cities in Emirates’ network to feature the newly refurbished Boeing 777 cabins on all flights.

Emirates continues to elevate the in-flight experience by offering more destinations with its Premium Economy product. By the end of 2024, the airline plans to serve 28 cities with its enhanced Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, providing customers with more choices and a superior travel experience across all cabin classes. To date, 25 aircraft have been retrofitted, with an additional 17 expected to undergo upgrades by December 2024.

New Routes and Enhanced Passenger Experience

Passengers traveling to Zurich on Emirates flights EK 85 and EK 86 will experience the retrofitted Boeing 777 starting October 1, 2024. The upgraded aircraft will also debut in Riyadh on flights EK 819 and EK 820 from the same date, marking the first appearance of Emirates’ Premium Economy in the Middle East and GCC region.

Geneva will become the first city in the Emirates network to offer Premium Economy seats and refreshed Business Class cabins on all flights, starting September 22, 2024, with the retrofitted Boeing 777 operating on flights EK 89 and EK 90. Shortly after, from October 9, 2024, Brussels will join the list with the introduction of the enhanced Boeing 777 on flights EK 181 and EK 182, operating six times weekly.

New Cabin Features and Comfort

The four-class Boeing 777 is designed with passenger comfort in mind. The aircraft includes six or eight First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats arranged in a four-abreast configuration, 24 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 layout, and 256 Economy Class seats.

Business Class passengers will enjoy spacious seats with enhanced privacy and a 180-degree fully flat bed for uninterrupted sleep. Each seat, measuring 20.7 inches in width, offers aisle access, a personal mini-bar, a wooden dining or working table, multiple charging outlets, and new seat button controls. Passengers can also expect a luxurious dining experience with Royal Doulton fine bone china, exclusive cutlery, and a selection of the finest champagne and wine, complemented by award-winning in-flight entertainment and service.

The Premium Economy cabin offers 19.5-inch-wide cream leather seats with a 38-inch pitch and an 8-inch recline for added comfort. Passengers can relax in the in-flight cradle position, supported by a calf and footrest, and enjoy accessible in-seat charging points and a wooden dining and side cocktail table. The Premium Economy experience is further enhanced with elevated in-flight dining, including a welcome drink, fine beverages, and gourmet dishes served on fine tableware, inspired by the Business Class offering.
