Singapore Airlines Expands Flight Frequencies for 2025 Summer

Singapore Airlines has announced plans to increase flight frequencies and expand passenger capacity across its network for the 2025 Northern Summer operating season, from March 30, 2025, to October 25, 2025. These changes are designed to meet the growing demand for air travel to popular destinations around the globe.

Starting March 30, 2025, Singapore Airlines will increase its service to London Gatwick from five times weekly to a daily service. This change, combined with its four daily flights to London Heathrow, will provide five daily services to London, enhancing connectivity between Singapore and the United Kingdom’s capital.

Expansion in Europe and Beyond

Singapore Airlines will also boost its services to several European cities. From June 26, 2025, to August 28, 2025, flights to Rome will increase from four to five times a week. Additionally, the airline will separate its current Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route into direct flights to each city between June 24, 2025, and September 7, 2025. During this period, the airline will operate five weekly direct flights to Barcelona, up from the current two, and Milan will enjoy daily service, an increase from the current four weekly flights.

In Australia, the frequency of flights to Adelaide will rise to 10 times weekly during both the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons, up from seven times weekly. Southeast Asia will see increased connectivity as well, with flights to Ho Chi Minh City rising to three times daily, up from 19 times weekly, and flights to Siem Reap doubling to twice daily.

Adjustments and Temporary Suspensions

Singapore Airlines will also make seasonal adjustments to its services. From December 11, 2024, to January 10, 2025, and again from April 2, 2025, to October 24, 2025, the airline will add three weekly flights to Johannesburg, bringing the total to 10 times a week during these periods.

The Airbus A380 will return to Tokyo Narita on one of Singapore Airlines’ two daily services between March 30, 2025, and May 31, 2025, replacing the Boeing 787-10. However, the A380 will be replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER on routes to Mumbai from July 28, 2025, to August 31, 2025, and to Delhi from June 23, 2025, to July 27, 2025.

In line with these capacity adjustments, Singapore Airlines will suspend its Houston service via Manchester starting April 1, 2025. Despite this suspension, the airline will maintain five-times weekly services between Singapore and Manchester through flights SQ302 and SQ301.

Preparing for Peak Travel Season

Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, stated, “Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to align our capacity with demand. These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans. We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with Singapore Airlines’ extensive network and delivering an unparalleled travel experience.”
