Etihad Airways Deploys Special Airbus A380 Flights to Mumbai

Etihad Airways is marking its 20-year connection with Mumbai by deploying its iconic Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi to Mumbai route. This special service will run from September 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, with three weekly flights, offering passengers an enhanced travel experience during this period. This deployment is a significant gesture, celebrating the airline’s long-standing relationship with India since its inaugural flight to Mumbai on September 26, 2004.

Etihad Airways currently offers nonstop services from Abu Dhabi to 11 Indian cities, with plans to expand further. This expansion supports Etihad’s mission to connect Indian travelers to Abu Dhabi and its global network, facilitating visits to family and friends, educational pursuits, and business opportunities worldwide.

To further cater to its Indian customers, Etihad recently launched a Hindi website, becoming the first international airline operating in India to offer this service. This move aims to make the airline’s services more inclusive and accessible to a broader audience in India.

Etihad’s Cultural Connections

Etihad Airways has embraced India’s love for cricket through its sponsorship of the Chennai Super Kings. The airline has also strengthened its cultural ties by partnering with Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif as a brand ambassador. This partnership has brought engaging content to Indian audiences through a series of videos shared across social media platforms.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, commented on this milestone, saying, “To kick off our celebrations for 20 years of service to Mumbai and India, we are thrilled to introduce our A380 on the Mumbai route. While this iconic aircraft is typically reserved for long-haul journeys, for our 20 years of celebrations of flying to India, we will showcase the A380 on three-days a week for a period of four months.”
