Ten reasons why flight attendants love their jobs

We’ve all heard the expression “once a flight attendant, always a flight attendant,” and while some may have moved on to other careers, they still consider themselves “flight attendants in the new workplace” for one simple reason. For the most part, they enjoy their jobs as flight attendants. Many of our cabin crew see themselves growing old in that profession. Here are ten reasons why flight attendants love their jobs.

Living the crewlife

There is a “modest life” and a “life of the rich and famous,” and there is also “living the crewlife.” This is due to the fact that only current and former cabin crew members are familiar with the job. They communicate in the same language. They share the same way of life. They went through the same arduous hiring, training, and graduation process. They simply get along, regardless of the airline. They both use the same jargon. They are aware of what they are going through. More importantly, they are willing to defend one another against bashers.

Meeting all kinds of people

And serving them! Cabin crew members have the opportunity to meet and serve celebrities, presidents, government officials, popular personalities, inspirational speakers, athletes, musicians, their life idols, and any ordinary person. They get to meet them without any effort, and they even get to have a light conversation with them. Not every passenger will be pleasant, but meeting and dealing with a hundred different people every day will undoubtedly improve your interpersonal skills.

Free Travel

You are not only given free travel, but you are also paid to travel! While others work to pay for their travels, cabin crew members must travel in order to be paid! So imagine being able to travel the world for free!

Uniforms and wings

Airlines spend a lot of money on their cabin crew uniforms, even hiring top fashion designers to do them! Furthermore, the only uniform launches that make headlines are cabin crew and airline personnel uniforms! In fact, many cabin crew uniforms are more expensive than other types of branded clothing!

Hotel Stays

Not all hotels where cabin crew members are booked are five-star, and not all are also extremely comfortable. Hotels have become a second home for flight attendants, which may explain why others think being a cabin crew is glamorous!

Travel Benefits

What about a vacation? Yes, cabin crew can still fly for free, but only as random passengers. It’s still free at the end of the day! They only need to be prepared with a backup plan in case things don’t go as planned.

Upgrades

Flight attendants can generally sit in any class, including first class, as chance passengers. Normally, airlines prioritize paying passengers, but if there are empty seats in first class, flight attendants on free trips may take them.

Crew lanes and priority lanes

There is no need to stand in line at the immigration counter. Flight crew members have a special and dedicated lane where they simply glide through. There is no need to wait for long periods of time, especially during peak seasons such as Christmas, New Year’s, and other holidays.

Shopping

This is also why many cabin crew members become entrepreneurs. They can shop for items from anywhere in the world. They know where to find low-cost items, even branded ones. Some they keep for themselves, while others they sell. Whatever it is, having the opportunity to shop in different countries exposes them to new opportunities and trends.

Safety professionals responsible for human lives

You are completely incorrect if you believe that flight attendants and stewards are only there to serve you food and beverages. They’ve been trained and have enough “superpowers” to save lives. They can even deal with extreme situations on board an aircraft, such as assisting a woman in giving birth, reviving passengers who are having seizures, and even calming frantic passengers.
