Vietjet Soars Higher with Four New Aircraft and Expanded Routes

In the bustling world of aviation, it’s always exciting when an airline makes big moves. This is exactly what’s happening with Vietjet after taking delivery of four new aircraft, including three Airbus A321neos and one A330, within the first three weeks of May. This acquisition, which marks the sixth A330 in its fleet, paves the way for the airline’s strategic plans to extend its intercontinental flight network.

Green Technology Meets High-flying Efficiency

These modern aircraft embody a commitment to fuel efficiency, emission reduction, and environmental protection. This investment signals a significant step in modernizing Vietjet’s fleet. The upgraded fleet boosts operational efficiency, lowers operating costs, and promises passengers an impressive flying experience at the most reasonable fares.

Dominating the Skies with an Expanded Fleet

As part of its ambitious plans for 2023, Vietjet intends to build on its existing fleet of 87 aircraft. This includes the addition of nine Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft to maintain its leading position in the Vietnamese market in terms of passenger volume and efficiency. The airline has projected to operate 139,513 flights with a whopping 25.7 million passengers on board. The targeted consolidated revenue for 2023 stands at over VND50,178 billion (approximately US$2.14 billion), with an after-tax profit set at VND1,000 billion (US$42.8 million).

Broadening Horizons with New and Resumed Routes

Beyond the fleet expansion, Vietjet is also making waves with the introduction of new routes and the revival of many services across Asia. Notably, it has started selling tickets for a new international route linking Ho Chi Minh City and Kochi in India, kicking off this August. In addition, the airline will restart numerous services between Vietnam and major cities such as Hong Kong, Daegu, Seoul, and Singapore.

In yet another expansion move, Vietjet is stretching its wings further into Indonesia with a third direct service connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta starting August 5, 2023. Following the successful operation of routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Bali, this new service solidifies Vietjet’s push to reach a larger audience in Southeast Asia.

In a nutshell, Vietjet is firmly on a growth trajectory. From adding four new state-of-the-art aircraft to its fleet, to plotting new routes and resuming services, the airline is making significant strides to reinforce its position in the aviation sector. These milestones show a clear commitment to not only environmental sustainability and operational efficiency but also the continual enhancement of passenger experience.
