Emirates and United Airlines Expand Codeshare to Include Mexico

Emirates is taking its codeshare partnership with United Airlines to the next level by adding nine Mexican destinations to the mix. This move makes Mexico the first country outside the U.S. to join this growing network. Starting September 14, tickets to these new Mexican destinations will be up for grabs on Emirates’ website and through select travel agencies.

More Choices and Flexibility for Travelers

The partnership is all about giving passengers more options and smoother connections. If you’re flying Emirates to Chicago or Houston, you can easily hop on a connecting flight to popular Mexican spots like Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, and more. But the flexibility doesn’t stop there. If Mexico City is your final destination, Emirates offers daily services from Dubai with a stop in Barcelona. You can also book codeshare flights to Mexico City if that fits your travel plans better.

Anne Brachet, the Executive Vice President of Air France-KLM Engineering & Maintenance, said, “This project aims to bring customers the best expertise of our two companies on a product as high-tech as the A350. We will be able to better respond to the needs of the market, and to guarantee the satisfaction of our customers over the long term, with support solutions that are always responsive, of high quality and at the right price.”

A Global Appeal

This expansion isn’t just good news for travelers in the U.S. and Mexico. It’s expected to be a hit with customers from the Middle East, India, and South Africa too. The most popular destinations for global travelers starting their journeys in Mexico include India, Israel, the UAE, and South Africa.

Emirates Airlines

The enhanced codeshare network now boasts 134 destinations that you can access from United’s U.S. gateways. Plus, nearly 100 more points across the U.S., Canada, Central and South America, and the Caribbean are available for customers on an interline basis. Emirates also offers daily services to Houston on its flagship A380 aircraft and has recently added a Premium Economy option to its Houston services. The airline also operates seven weekly flights between Dubai and Chicago using its Boeing 777 aircraft, making global travel planning a breeze.

If you’re a member of Emirates’ frequent flyer program, Emirates Skywards, you’re in for a treat. You can earn and redeem miles on flights from both airlines if you book codeshare flights. Plus, you can plan your entire trip on a single ticket and enjoy hassle-free benefits like Emirates’ baggage allowance and convenient bag check-through to your final destination.

Emirates and United Airlines are expanding their codeshare partnership to include nine new destinations in Mexico. This gives travelers more flexibility and options when planning their trips. Whether
