Emirates and AEGEAN Grow Their Partnership with New Routes

Emirates and AEGEAN are taking their partnership up a notch by adding a new Athens-New York (Newark) route. This comes as the airlines celebrate a year of successful collaboration that has helped over 16,800 passengers. Now, travelers flying with Emirates can enjoy a stopover in Athens and then catch AEGEAN’s flights to various European and Greek destinations. Likewise, AEGEAN passengers can hop on Emirates’ flights between Athens and Dubai or Athens and Newark.

A Year of Success and More to Come

The codeshare agreement between the two airlines kicked off in August 2022. It offered travelers an easy booking experience from Emirates’ network to eight domestic spots in Greece via Athens. All of this came with the convenience of a single ticket and one baggage policy. AEGEAN also added its code to Emirates’ flights between Dubai and Athens, making travel between the two hubs a breeze.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We’re pleased to expand our successful partnership with AEGEAN to include our direct service between Athens and Newark. We value AEGEAN as a partner and believe that by adding more routes to our joint network, we’ll be able to benefit even more customers, offering them convenient travel options and our world-class products and services.”

Expanding Global Reach

Through this partnership, AEGEAN now offers flights to 17 domestic destinations and an additional 53 points in regional Europe and the Middle East from its Athens hub. On the other hand, Emirates provides access to its global network of over 140 destinations across six continents from its Dubai hub. Combine the two, and you get a whopping 200 destinations worldwide.

Dimitris Gerogiannis, AEGEAN CEO, said, “We are pleased to unveil an expanded codeshare alliance with Emirates, one of the most successful industry leaders. This pivotal step brings Athens and New York closer for all AEGEAN passengers whereas at the same time facilitates seamless travel to popular Greek and European destinations through our network, for all passengers who select Emirates as their gateway to Greece.”

Emirates and AEGEAN are expanding their one-year-old codeshare partnership by adding an Athens-New York (Newark) route. This move will offer more travel options for passengers and is a win-win for both airlines as they continue to grow their global footprint.
