The Ber months are just around the corner, and AirAsia Philippines is gearing up for a busy travel season. To make sure everyone has a smooth trip, they’re sharing some essential travel tips. Whether you’re a local or a foreign traveler, these pointers will help you out.
What to Keep in Your Carry-On
First Officer Steve Dailisan, who also heads Communications and Public Affairs at AirAsia Philippines, says, “At AirAsia, making sure every guest enjoys a safe, on time, and affordable flight is our top priority. This extends to their belongings aboard our aircraft as well.” So, what should you keep in your hand luggage?
Here are some travel tips from AirAsia Philippines.
- Valuables: Money and jewelry should be close to you. They’re not just easy to lose, but they can also attract eyes you don’t want on them.
- Important Documents: Keep your passport, travel papers, boarding passes, and IDs in your hand carry. Losing these can mess up your trip big time.
- Electronics: Laptops, tablets, and cameras have fragile parts. Better keep them where you can see them.
- Medications: Prescription medications and other health items should be within arm’s reach, especially in case of emergencies.
Remember, AirAsia allows two pieces of cabin baggage per guest, and their combined weight shouldn’t go over 7kg.
Handling Your Checked-In Baggage
If you’ve got bigger bags to check in, AirAsia offers a flexible allowance of up to 60kg, with no limit on the number of bags. Once you hand over your luggage at the red-and-white counters, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) takes over for additional checks. Keep in mind that they might open your bags for inspection.
To avoid delays, don’t pack prohibited items in your checked-in baggage. This list includes flammable materials, mechanical tools, and explosives. Batteries and power banks should only be in your carry-on.
If you find any issues with your checked-in baggage upon arrival, report them right away to the ground staff or customer service counters.
