AirAsia Philippines is gearing up for a robust second half of 2024, as more Filipinos are ready to spend on travel. A recent study by travel platform Klook shows that over 70% of Filipinos plan to spend more on airline tickets, accommodations, and activities this year. While domestic travel remains popular, 76% of Filipinos are also eager to embark on international journeys.
AirAsia Philippines and Klook have partnered to promote popular tourist spots in Japan. The airline’s Q2 load factor indicates that 78.9%, or over 1 million Filipino travelers, have already booked flights for international destinations such as Taipei, Bangkok, Narita, Osaka, and Incheon, until June 2024.
“AirAsia Philippines’ commitment to provide the best affordable travel deals, seamless access to Philippine destinations, 10 ASEAN countries, and 130 destinations worldwide, combined with our focus on safety and service excellence, has always been the blueprint to boost travel excitement,” said AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan. He emphasized the airline’s flexibility in responding to changing market trends by innovating and providing the best deals that fit travelers’ needs.
As of May 13, 2024, AirAsia’s load factor stands at over 80%. The airline is confident that its Q2 figures will surpass its Q1 load factor of 92%, especially as more Filipinos book last-minute summer trips. Monthly promotions and sales significantly influence travelers’ decisions, making travel purchases more attractive.
To further encourage air travel, AirAsia offers a one-way base fare of PHP1,750 to destinations in Australia, including Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne, for travel until March 31, 2025. This offer is available until May 19, 2024.
Expanded Flight Frequencies
AirAsia Philippines is increasing the frequency of its flights from Cebu to Boracay and Davao to daily. Other domestic flights to Bacolod, Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa, and Tacloban continue to operate out of Manila via NAIA Terminal 2, with frequencies ranging from 3 to 9 times daily. International flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Narita, and Macau continue to depart 3 to 14 times weekly from NAIA Terminal 3.
AirAsia Philippines is poised for a strong second half of 2024, with more Filipinos willing to spend on travel. The airline’s partnership with Klook and its various promotions and increased flight frequencies aim to make travel more accessible and enjoyable. With a focus on affordable travel deals and excellent service, AirAsia continues to cater to the growing travel needs of Filipinos.
