With Holy Week on the horizon, AirAsia Philippines is preparing to welcome around 100,000 guests traveling beyond Metro Manila. The airline is launching its #AlwaysREADY ngayong Semana Santa campaign, emphasizing safety and preparedness during this culturally significant period.
AirAsia is also reinforcing safety measures, especially concerning unauthorized electronic devices. With “Safety #1” as a cornerstone of its values, AirAsia recently showcased its adeptness in managing inflight emergencies through a comprehensive fire drill.
This exercise saw AirAsia’s Cabin Crew expertly extinguishing a fire caused by a power bank explosion, containing the situation with a fire extinguisher, and securing the device in a fire containment bag. Such drills are an annual affair, ensuring the flight crew’s readiness and competency in handling potential emergencies.
AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla highlighted the importance of collaboration in maintaining safety, stating, “We pride ourselves on our highly competent crew who prioritizes the safety and comfort of our guests. However, ensuring safety is a collaborative effort; it requires the cooperation of both our team and our guests.” Isla’s message underscores the collective responsibility in adhering to safety guidelines, especially during peak travel seasons.
Enhancing Guest Experiences
In preparation for the expected influx of travelers, Isla conducted inspections of the check-in counters to ensure operational efficiency. The airline has ramped up its manpower, with additional staff and a standby team ready to handle the holiday rush.
AirAsia is also committed to enhancing the travel experience. Through a partnership with Locally PH, the airline has been distributing hundreds of Locally products to passengers, adding a refreshing touch to their journeys. Furthermore, a dedicated customer help desk is now available to assist travelers with rebooking and flight change concerns, ensuring a smoother journey for everyone.
Guests are reminded of the complimentary 7KG hand-carry baggage allowance, which includes a small bag or a laptop/handbag. For those needing more space, pre-booking up to 14KG of cabin baggage is recommended.
As Holy Week approaches, AirAsia Philippines is fully prepared to ensure a safe, efficient, and enjoyable travel experience for all its guests.
