AirAsia Philippines is ending the year on a high note by announcing its fifth and final round of cabin crew hiring. The move aims to prepare for an uptick in both domestic and international travel in 2024. The hiring event will take place on October 11, Wednesday, at the MIAA Function Hall on the 3rd Floor of NAIA Terminal 3. Those who make the cut will have the chance to work across AirAsia’s expanding network, which includes 14 domestic and 13 international destinations from its Manila and Cebu hubs, as well as the soon-to-reopen Clark and Kalibo hubs.
A Clear Path to Expansion
AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla is optimistic about the airline’s future. He stated, “The horizon is very clear in terms of our growth direction. Our additional manpower will compensate for the expected increase in fleet size next year. Also, the sustained momentum in forward bookings continues to flourish, surpassing our 2019 figures. Our guests can be assured of seamless travels during the Ber months with our group On-Time Performance hitting a high of 90% over the weekend.”
But it’s not just cabin crew that AirAsia Philippines is looking to hire. The airline is also recruiting additional Guest Service (GSA) and Ramp agents. This is in addition to the projected 600 new staff members who will join the Allstar Team in 2024. These new hires will support the airline’s additional aircraft and help reactivate hubs and other destinations that were affected by the pandemic.
Financial Backing for Future Plans
In related news, AirAsia Philippines’ parent company, Capital A, has secured a five-year term loan facility of up to USD150 million. This loan will be used for various capital requirements, including aircraft and engine maintenance. Ricky Isla added, “As a group, we are the largest Asean carrier in terms of fleet size. We also fly to 165 destinations in 25 countries worldwide. With the strong backing of our parent company Capital A, we are bullish that we will be on the right path to market domination in 2024.”
AirAsia Philippines is ramping up its workforce with a final round of cabin crew hiring for the year. The airline is preparing for a busy 2024, with plans to expand its fleet and reactivate more hubs. Financial support from parent company Capital A ensures that the airline is well-positioned for future growth.
