Cebu Pacific Flies 1M Passengers via Clark International Airport

I have always had high hopes for Clark International Airport. I believe it is beautiful and modern, yet underutilized. The airport has the potential to become a major transit hub, but it needs support to attract more passengers. Fortunately, Cebu Pacific has stepped in to help by flying over 1 million passengers to and from Clark International Airport.

Cebu Pacific recently announced that they transported over 1 million passengers to and from the airport in 2024. This represents a 36% increase, equivalent to nearly 300,000 more passengers compared to 2023. The airline also nearly doubled its average monthly flights and seat capacity throughout the year. This much-needed intervention is exactly what Clark International Airport required, and it’s encouraging that Cebu Pacific recognized its potential.

Rising Passenger Numbers and Increased Capacity

In January 2024, Cebu Pacific operated an average of 441 flights per month, offering 79,000 seats. By December, these figures had grown significantly, with 872 flights and 161,000 seats available each month. This expansion aligns with the airline’s mission to make air travel more accessible to travelers in Central and Northern Luzon. Passengers from areas such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Isabela, and La Union have benefited from these expanded services.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, expressed her satisfaction with the airline’s achievements. “We are delighted by the strong growth we achieved in 2024, which highlights the growing demand for accessible air travel among our passengers from Central and Northern Luzon. Cebu Pacific remains steadfast in its commitment to offering affordable and convenient flights, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Iyog said.

Domestic and International Routes

Cebu Pacific now operates 11 domestic and international routes out of Clark. For domestic travel, the airline offers connections to popular destinations such as Bohol, Boracay (Caticlan), Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, and Puerto Princesa. Weekly flights on these routes range from three to 24, depending on demand.

For international travel, Cebu Pacific provides routes to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Narita, and Singapore, with weekly frequencies between seven and 14 flights, offering passengers a variety of options.

I hope Cebu Pacific continues its efforts to bring more passengers to Clark International Airport. The next crucial step is to improve land transportation options, such as buses, transfer services, TNVS (Transport Network Vehicle Services), and other modes of transport to and from the airport. It’s time for Clark International Airport to receive the attention it deserves, and I am pleased that Cebu Pacific is taking the necessary steps to make this possible.
