Emirates and Avianca have announced a new codeshare partnership, enhancing travel options for their customers. This partnership allows passengers to enjoy seamless connectivity on select routes and opens up new destinations. Emirates customers can now fly from their network via Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow directly to three points in Colombia. These routes include flights from Madrid to Bogotá, Medellin, or Cali; from Barcelona to Bogotá; and from London Heathrow to Bogotá. This arrangement brings added convenience and travel benefits, offering more choices for passengers.
Travelers can book tickets immediately through various platforms, including emirates.com, avianca.com, the Emirates and Avianca apps, contact centers, and both online and offline travel agents. The codeshare flights will begin on June 4, 2024. Avianca will place its code on routes operated by Emirates, covering flights between Barcelona, Madrid, or London Heathrow and Dubai.
Avianca customers flying on these Emirates-operated routes will experience premium services, including lie-flat seats in premium cabins and a wide selection of inflight entertainment with more than 6,500 channels, including content in Spanish. This partnership ensures a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for Avianca passengers.
Seamless Connectivity and Benefits
The codeshare agreement provides seamless connectivity and hassle-free booking of itineraries on both airlines with a single ticket. Passengers will benefit from competitive fares and a single baggage policy that checks baggage through to the final destination. This collaboration simplifies the travel process and enhances the overall travel experience for customers of both airlines.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to establish a codeshare partnership with Colombia’s largest carrier, Avianca to provide seamless connections on select routes to customers of both airlines. The codeshare agreement will enable us to expand our reach and allow our customers to use our services and fly to additional popular points in Colombia.”
Claudio Vélez, Chief Revenue Officer of Avianca, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “We are very pleased to launch this codeshare agreement with Emirates which ratifies, once again, our commitment to connectivity, access to new destinations and a greater attraction of passengers to Latin America. This collaboration will bring our region closer to Dubai via Europe and it will also strengthen Avianca’s operation in Barcelona, Madrid and London Heathrow. Emirates is one of the largest and most prestigious airlines in the world, so this partnership is a testimony and recognition of Avianca’s track record, our world-class operational indicators, and the strength of our route network.”
First love never dies. I fell in love with airplanes and aviation when I was a kid. My dream was to become a pilot, but destiny led me to another path: to be an aviation digital media content creator and a small business owner. My passion for aviation inspires me to bring you quality content through my website and social accounts. Aviation is indeed in my blood and blog!
