What makes flight attendants unique individuals

They are compensated to travel. They work in various time zones. A typical office environment is nothing like that of an aircraft. They deal with various personalities and perform routine tasks most of the time, unless an unexpected situation arises. We can say that flight attendants are definitely one-of-a-kind people because of their lifestyle. But what distinguishes them? Allow me to list a few of the characteristics that make flight attendants unique.

This is a “for fun” post, but all or most of them may be true for the majority of the cabin crew. At the end of the day, this is why I can confidently state that flight attendants are one-of-a-kind individuals.

Traits and characteristics that make flight attendants unique

  1. Even when they are tired and sleepy, they can give you the best smiles. In fact, you won’t even notice.
  2. Flight attendants greet anyone they see, even if they don’t know who they are.
  3. They are capable of eating a four-course meal while standing at a kitchen table.
  4. Flight attendants can eat breakfast in Manila, lunch in Tokyo, then dinner in San Francisco.
  5. Their refrigerator serves mostly to display their magnets. Food storage is secondary.
  6. Flight attendants have a collection of various hotel pens. They do, however, lose them all after their flights.
  7. The bed is the first thing flight attendants inspect in a hotel room. What view?
  8. Flight attendants usually point with their index and middle finger.
  9. They may become confused as to what day it is. Flight attendants may get dressed only to discover that it is their day off.
  10. Disturb a flight attendant while they are sleeping to make them hate you. Don’t you dare wake up a sleeping cabin crew.
  11. Flight attendants have a friend or know someone from almost any country on the planet.
  12. When flight attendants awaken during a layover, they check the hotel stationary to determine their location.
  13. “Cheers to the weekend” and “thank God it’s Friday” are statements flight attendants never said.
  14. They’ve mastered the art of walking quickly down the aisle without making eye contact.
  15. Flight attendants exercise not to look good in their beachwear, but to look good in their uniforms.
  16. They’re LSS (last song syndrome) and usual dream is the sound of the call bell.
  17. Flight attendants have mastered all of the world’s pick-up lines. They are aware of what you are about to say even if you have not yet finished your sentence.
  18. Flight attendants can easily adapt to different personalities because they are exposed to a hundred unique characters on a daily basis.
  19. Their phone alarms are set for 4:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m., 5:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., and so on until they finally get up at 9:00 a.m. in time for their flight.
  20. The phrase “walking down the aisle” has a different meaning for flight attendants.
  21. In just two months, flight attendants can study and memorize material equivalent to an entire college term. They even pass these with a 90% or higher.
  22. Almost everyone is addressed as “sir” or “ma’am” by flight attendants, even outside the aircraft. If they address you by your first name, it indicates that you are close.
  23. Flight attendants are accustomed to multitasking. It’s nothing new nor big to them.
  24. They are accustomed to being greeted with a seat number rather than a greeting such as “good morning” or “good afternoon.”
  25. Flight attendants are very united, regardless of airline or nationality. If you mess with one flight attendant, you mess with all of them.
