Emirates and PAL Team up for more Interconnectivity Options

Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have teamed up to enhance connectivity and provide more travel options for passengers of both carriers through an interline agreement. This partnership enables passengers to reach new destinations on each other’s networks via Manila and Dubai, with a single ticket and one baggage policy.

Under the agreement, Emirates’ customers gain access to 19 Philippine domestic destinations served by PAL, including Cebu, Bacolod, Davao, and Iloilo. Meanwhile, PAL’s customers have access to Emirates’ global network and can connect to 21 cities beyond Dubai to European destinations such as Rome, Frankfurt, and Paris, as well as other points in the Middle East, Africa, and India.

What Advantage Does this Have?

The new interline agreement between Emirates and Philippine Airlines will offer passengers of both airlines the convenience of a single ticket and one baggage policy for travel to new destinations on each other’s networks. This means that Philippine Airlines passengers can now purchase a ticket to fly to Europe via Dubai, where they will board an Emirates flight to their final destination, all with just one ticket. Similarly, Emirates passengers can easily connect from Manila to various provinces in the Philippines with Philippine Airlines. With this partnership, passengers can now enjoy a hassle-free travel experience and access to a wider range of destinations.

“The partnership with Philippine Airlines will help open new links for trade and tourism that will drive more inbound traffic into the market, and expand Emirates’ footprint in East Asia,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer. Meanwhile, Bud Britanico, Philippine Airlines Vice President for Sales, stated that they are eager to expand their reach to various international markets and exciting destinations.

This new partnership comes as Emirates celebrates over three decades of operations in the Philippines, having started flights to Manila in 1990 and later expanding to Cebu and Clark. Emirates currently operates 25 weekly flights to these three destinations and has 120 interline partners and 27 codeshare partners worldwide.

With this agreement, Emirates and PAL aim to provide seamless travel experiences and promote tourism and trade between the Philippines and the rest of the world.
