Etihad Airways is taking a big step forward, revealing a major network overhaul that aims to position itself for sustainable expansion and enhance Abu Dhabi’s connections to the world.
The new network is all about supporting Abu Dhabi’s growth in visitors and giving travelers more choices. It’s about introducing new destinations, providing more options, and increasing frequencies to key international markets. The updated schedules are even timed for departures from Abu Dhabi at 2 pm, letting travelers enjoy Abu Dhabi’s hotels and attractions until checkout time.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said, “As we embark on Etihad’s next chapter targeting growth, our ambitious network and improved connectivity allow us to better serve Abu Dhabi and our valued guests, forming the basis of our future expansion while providing flexibility and freedom to adapt to new opportunities and markets. By offering more travel options and seamless connections, we aim to attract an increasing number of visitors to Abu Dhabi, propelling economic growth for the city while enriching the travel experience for our passengers.”

Plus, they’ve just revealed two new routes to the Indian Subcontinent, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, set to launch in January 2024. These new destinations show Etihad’s commitment to expanding connectivity and giving travelers more options worldwide.
But that’s not all. Etihad has also made several recent network changes and frequency additions to make travel even more convenient. Highlights include:
- Improved Departure Times: Better times for European and Asian destinations.
- Expanded Frequencies: More flights to places like Chennai, Islamabad, Kochi, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Rome, and Phuket.
- Cairo: An extra 5 flights per week starting January 1, strengthening the link between Abu Dhabi and the Egyptian capital.
- Colombo: 7 direct flights per week, with 3 flights starting December 1 and 4 flights starting January 1.

Boosting Abu Dhabi’s Economic and Tourism Growth
Etihad’s new network is not just about flights and destinations. It’s about playing a vital role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s goals for economic growth. As connectivity increases, Abu Dhabi will become an even more prominent hub for business and tourism, and a gateway to the rest of the UAE and wider GCC to the world.
With this revamped network, Etihad is entering a new phase of growth and connectivity. It’s all about providing seamless travel experiences, better connections, and flexibility across its global network.
So, if you’re planning a trip or looking to explore new cultures, Etihad’s new network might just have the perfect options for you. It’s a big world out there, and Etihad is making it easier to explore, experience, and enjoy.
