Expect more cabin crew hiring events in the next few weeks

As the aviation industry takes a rebound in the Philippines, more airlines have opened their doors for all who want to be their flight attendants. Airlines in the Philippines are already hiring new cabin crew. This is on top of the rehiring of those who were retrenched.

Local airlines continue to increase capacity and add flights, hence, the need for more flight attendants. Also, they are anticipating that quite a number of their flight attendants will be moving to foreign airlines within the next few months. Hence, the need to hire more cabin crew early to prevent any disruption in operations due to lack of manpower.

So to sum things up, here are the airlines that are currently hiring flight attendants in the Philippines.

Cebu Pacific

Cebu Pacific announced last week that they are hiring more flight attendants. While they did say on their official website that they prefer those with flying experience, ‘new blood’ or those with no flying experience are welcome to apply! The application process is now online. No word yet about any open day or walk-in interviews.

Here are the requirements to be a Cebu Pacific flight attendant:

• Must have completed at least two (2) years of college or equivalent.
• Preferably has previous experience as a Cabin Crew, particularly A320/321/330 qualified.
• Must meet the minimum height requirement of 5’3 for females, and 5’7 for males.
• Candidates without prior experience as a Cabin Crew may also apply.
• Ready to join the training as soon as possible.
• Open to Filipino nationals based in the Philippines only.
• Willing to be based outside of Manila, Philippines.
• Must be proficient in Filipino and English language.
• Must be physically fit to undergo the training and perform the roles and responsibilities of a Cabin Crew.
• Must have a customer-centric mindset.
• Must possess confidence and creativity in problem-solving.

AirAsia Philippines

AirAsia Philippines is the first airline in the country to stage a cabin crew walk-in interview for both former flight attendants and newbies. Walk-in means those who want to become an AirAsia cabin crew can just proceed to the venue on the said date and time. They just have to bring all requirements and they have to be in corporate attire or the required get-up.

The AirAsia cabin crew walk-in interview is happening on June 11 from 8 am to 12 pm only. It will be held at the NAIA Terminal 3 MIAA function room on the 3rd floor.

The requirements and qualifications are as follows:

• Open to both male and female
• Willing to be based in Clark, Cebu, and Kalibo
• With clear complexion and good set of teeth
• With eright to height proportioned ratio
  • Minimum height female: 160cm
  • Minimum height male: 170cm
• At least a senior high school graduate
• Fluent in English and Filipino. Of course being multilingual is an advantage
• Bring updated CV/resume
• Copy of valid passport (at least 1 year)
• Full body photo
• Headshot photo

Other airlines that may hire anytime soon

I will not provide any specific details yet as we still have to wait for an official announcement from these airlines. However, these are all I can share so that you can all prepare yourselves.

• An airline may start recruiting more flight attendants again and we just have to wait for an announcement first from them.
• A few foreign airlines may be staging more hiring events not only for cabin crew positions but for others as well here in the Philippines.

Beware of fake and hearsay news

Sadly, some cabin crew aspirants still fall for fake and hearsay news which causes them more trouble. These usually come from other social media content creators who have no direct ties and official working relations with airlines, recruitment agencies, and other stakeholders.

So please, before you take any action, verify the news or post directly with the airline and the proper authorities, especially if money is involved such as airfare.
