Expect more flights between Singapore and Manila as Jetstar Asia is adding more capacity to the route. Jetstar Asia is a Singapore-based airline subsidiary of the Jetstar Group, including Jetstar Australia and Jetstar Japan.
It is owned by Westbrook Investments of Singapore with 51% ownership. The Qantas group owns the remaining 49%.
In a report from Simple Flying, Jetstar added two additional morning services from Singapore, on Sunday and Monday, to the Philippines capital of Manila. The flights will operate from Terminal 1 at Manila Airport (MNL) and bring Jetstar’s Singapore-Manila services to 13 per week.
The airline currently operates 200 flights a week within Southeast Asia, utilizing a fleet of seven Airbus A320 aircraft.
Jetstar Airways to looks operate A321XLR between Manila to Sydney
The airline welcomed its first Airbus A321LR last July, with 17 more to be delivered. They also have 20 Airbus A321XLR, which will be delivered from 2024 onwards. These A321XLR long-range narrowbody jets will be used to launch direct flights between Manila and Sydney, Manila and Melbourne. It will also allow the airline to open more routes within the range of the aircraft.
However, Jetstar will not be the first airline to operate a narrowbody between Sydney and Manila. Philippine Airlines would sometimes work their Airbus A321LR between Manila and Sydney non-stop.
First love never dies. I fell in love with airplanes and aviation when I was a kid. My dream was to become a pilot, but destiny led me to another path: to be an aviation digital media content creator and a small business owner. My passion for aviation inspires me to bring you quality content through my website and social accounts. Aviation is indeed in my blood and blog!
