I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to the flight crew (pilots and flight attendants), ground staff, and everyone else in the aviation sector who has worked so hard to bring Filipino families together for the holidays. I know how tough it is to be away from loved ones at these special times, but I want you to know how much I appreciate everything you do to help our passengers reach their loved ones safely.
As with many other countries, Christmas in the Philippines is a time of joyous celebration. Many Filipinos living abroad go back to the Philippines to celebrate Noche Buena with family and friends. When it comes to countries celebrating Christmas, the Philippines takes the cake. The Christmas season is also a time when our flight crew may spend more time with their loved ones.
Missing out on important family traditions to unite other families
These flight crew may not be able to spend Christmas Eve with their families or celebrate Christmas Day with theirs because of the demands of their professions. Their hearts and minds may have been prepared for the idea of having to work on Christmas Eve when they were recruited, announced as cabin crew, pilots, and ground crew, and put through training.
These flight crew man these big jets to make sure every father, mother, son, daughter, husband, and wife, is reunited with their families.
Even though they had anticipated being absent from these significant events, it is an entirely different experience when it really arrives.
What makes this so meaningful for our flight crew, however, is the joy they have in facilitating the reunion of others with their loved ones on the ground. They skip spending time with their own families so they can get to their destination safely and help people they’ve never met before reconnect with their own families.
Pilots, flight attendants, ground crew, and other unsung members of the aviation sector put through long hours of hard work. Because of this, serving in this capacity is more than a job; it is a calling, somewhat like that of a soldier who is prepared to give their life for their country.
I appreciate your selflessness and commitment to make air travel the safest option. Have a blessed Christmas, everyone.
First love never dies. I fell in love with airplanes and aviation when I was a kid. My dream was to become a pilot, but destiny led me to another path: to be an aviation digital media content creator and a small business owner. My passion for aviation inspires me to bring you quality content through my website and social accounts. Aviation is indeed in my blood and blog!
