PAL Boosts Flights for Holiday Travel Demand

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is expanding its services to meet the rising demand for holiday travel. With new routes and additional flights, the airline aims to provide passengers with more choices for domestic and international destinations.

PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng emphasized their focus on convenience for travelers during the holiday season. “With the Christmas and New Year holidays just round the corner, we continue to build up our network of flights, adding new routes and beefing up other routes with more frequencies, even as we plan for new connections in 2025. Our goal is to help people reunite with their loved ones, and we’re committed to expand our services to meet the needs of our customers and make holiday travel as convenient as possible,” said Capt. Ng.

New Holiday Flights

PAL has introduced a Clark-Siargao route with three flights per week, which started on December 3. The Cebu-Osaka Kansai route resumed on December 22, reconnecting Cebu to Japan.

The airline has increased its international services to meet passenger demand. This includes an additional weekly flight from Melbourne, available until January 12, alongside the recently launched service from Seattle. Brisbane now benefits from daily flights.

Domestic Travel Enhancements

Between December 15 and January 12, PAL has added 74 round-trip domestic flights to serve more travelers. These flights connect Manila to destinations such as Davao, Bacolod, Cagayan, Iloilo, Tacloban, Busuanga, Caticlan, and Legazpi. Additional flights will also operate between Cebu and destinations like Caticlan, Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Siargao, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Busuanga.

To handle high travel demand on popular regional routes, PAL is deploying wide-body aircraft for flights between Manila and Tokyo Narita, Bangkok, and Singapore.

Expansions into 2024

PAL will introduce a daily Manila-Cauayan route starting January 15, offering travelers in Northern Luzon a faster option compared to the lengthy land trip between Manila and Cauayan.

This addition comes after months of frequency increases on key routes such as Manila to Hanoi, Cotabato, General Santos, Cebu, Davao, and Tagbilaran, further enhancing PAL’s domestic network.
